We all had a great time at the Upper Sturt Soldiers Memorial Hall Strawberry Fair yesterday. We had our own stall but also helped the hall committee with catering and clean up.

Last night our branch welcomed Pauline Dodd from Blackwood Action Group as we helped make some very cute angels for the Blackwood Christmas Tree Festival.

Our Branch will be decorating a tree for the event as well.

A great night had by all and some good ideas for our stall at the upcoming Upper Sturt Soldiers Memorial Hall Strawberry Fair Strawberry 🍓

Yesterday we hosted some of the SACWA Heysen Group for a talk about a very special creature and it’s habitat, the Southern Brown Bandicoot.

Upper Sturt is home to the Bandicoot Superhighway and thanks to Danny Rohrlach from Sturt Upper Reaches Landcare Group we learned about its habitat, the work being done to protect and enhance biodiversity and how local properties are linking up to create safe passage from Belair-Nationalpark and Mark Oliphant Conservation Reserve for the Bandicoot.

On Saturday we attended the Circle of Friends, Blackwood Middle Eastern Feast fundraising dinner. Lots of delicious food was enjoyed by all.

Tushar, a Henna Tatoo artist was on hand (pardon the pun) to send us on our way with decorated hands and fingers.

This evening our President and our youngest member headed into the ABC studios to join the ABC Adelaide Peter Goers radio show.

Ruby cooked an incredible Banana cake from the 365 CWA Favourites Cookbook and Catherine made an Indian sweet, special to her family called ‘Burfee’

Maybe B1 and B2 were a little worried they might end up in Ruby’s next cake but it was an enjoyable experience.

Yesterday our Secretary, Valerie attended the opening of the new See Differently with the Royal Society for the Blind Low Vision Centre in Adelaide and the launch of their new brand 'See Differently’

Valerie is a lifetime supporter of the RSB and the Guide Dogs and we are very proud of her and the work she does.

Valerie also had a cuppa with Nat Cook MP who was there to open the event.

Well done Valerie!
