The enviro office went to the Lock the Gate Alliance protest today opposing the expansion of coal projects in NSW!

It’s an outrage that amidst a worsening climate crisis the NSW gov is authorising the expansion of fossil fuel projects. Avoiding irreversible climate change means getting rid of fossil fuels, not expanding them.

Last week, Albanese delivered an address at Sydney University on AI and data centres.

Intended to allay growing public and community fears about the rapid expansion of data centres, the speech concealed the government’s continued commitment to making Australia the second largest destination in the world for data centre investment.

The expansion of data centres is nothing less than an accelerant of the climate crisis, pushing us further and further away from reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The Usyd Enviro Collective demands a moratorium on data centre construction!

We also support all the local campaigns across Australia opposing data centre construction!
