2026 Remembrance Walk - Join us at Iluka Reserve at Boat Harbour on Sunday 13 September 13 from 10:00am to 12:00 for our annual remembrance event for those who have lost loved ones and friends to the tragedy of su***de. The event is a very respectful, caring opportunity for members of the community to come together to share the challenge of loss and remember those lost in a positive environment. Please share the attached flyer and send word out through your networks.

This training will provide our frontline communities members the tools to offer immediate, concrete support to lessen factors that contribute to poor mental health.

This practical course will give you the knowledge and skills to support someone experiencing:
✔️ Depression
✔️ Anxiety
✔️ Psychosis
✔️ Substance misuse
✔️ Suicidal thoughts & behaviours

You’ll also learn how to respond to mental health crises including:
⚡ Panic attacks
⚡ Severe psychotic states

Ben Besant - Guest Speaker at Remembrance Walk 13 September Iluka Reserve Boat Harbour - 9:00am.

Ben Besant who served with the New South Wales Police Tactical Operations Unit and a member of the team that dealt with the Lindt Cafe Siege, will be the guest speaker at the Port Stephens Su***de Prevention Remembrance Walk at Iluka Reserve Boat Harbour on Saturday 13 September at 9:00am. Ben's story of the mental health challenges associated with his job and his efforts to overcome them is an inspiring one for all of us who struggle at times with our mental wellbeing. Come along and join in on the Remembrance Walk and have a chat to Ben.
