Port Stephens Koala Hospital

Port Stephens Koala Hospital (PSKH) will have a stall at the Wollombi June Markets today from 8am-2pm at the Wollombi Saleyards, 2978 Paynes Crossing Road, Wollombi. There will be over 100 stall holders including local produce & craft, bric-a-brac, plants, clothes, tools and much more.

PSKH will have education books and other koala inspired products available on the day. You can adopt a koala for a one-off payment of $50 and receive a personalised adoption certificate and updates on how your koala is doing via e-mail.

🐨👀 Yard Supervisor Ainslie On Duty 🌿✨

Ainslie has been keeping a very close eye on the volunteers servicing her yard this morning 🐨👀🍃

From her safe spot in the trees, she’s been carefully watching the fresh browse delivery and yard cleaning going on below 🌿💚 We’re fairly sure she’s making certain the leaf quality meets her very high standards 😄🍃

Koalas may spend a lot of their day snoozing, but Ainslie is making sure she doesn’t miss a thing! 🐨✨

🌧🐨 Hollie Enjoying a Rainy Morning Snack 🌿💚

Hollie has been making the most of a break in the rain this morning, coming down to enjoy some fresh leaf before heading back up for another cosy snooze 💚🌿

Koalas are surprisingly well adapted to wet weather. Their thick, dense fur helps insulate them from the cold and wind, even when the outer coat becomes wet from the rain 🌧🍃 This helps them stay warm while resting high in the trees during rough weather.

Midnight Rose – Queen of the Treetops 🌸🐨🌿

Our beautiful, and very elusive, Midnight Rose doesn’t come down from the treetops very often, so it’s always a special moment when we get a closer look 💚

She recently made a visit to the vet clinic for a health check and routine bloods, and we’re so pleased to share that she’s making great progress ✨

True to form, it didn’t take long before Midnight Rose headed straight back up to her favourite spot high in the trees 🌳👑

Peter the Perfect Patient 🐨✨🌿

Peter came to the clinic for his check-up and we’re happy to report he was an absolute star! He stayed calm and cooperative while the vet team gave him a check-up and dental exam, making their job very easy 🦷🩺💚

After all that hard work, Peter is now right where he belongs… back in his tree, soaking up the sunshine and happily munching on his fresh leaf ☀️🌳🐨
