Cassie was not only a committed Volunteer fire fighter but also the founding member and past president of Apex club of Capricorn West. Her commitment and dedication to both Volunteer organisations was above outstanding.
This injury whilst undertaking fire fighting duties will have a serious impact on her life, with facing a permanent disability. Her life has bee turned upside down, any assistance you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Cassie faces new challenges everyday.

Please dig deep and help this amazing woman as the road to recovery is very long and currently has limited assistance and is 600+ klms away from her family.

Please either donate to the go fund me page or share the page.

Let’s all get behind our Volunteer who remember help to protect our communities for no cost.

💛 SUPPORT CASSIE — A FIREFIGHTER WHO ALWAYS SHOWED UP 💛

We’re asking our wider community to rally around Cassie. A devoted volunteer firefighter, mother and wife - who was seriously injured while doing what she always did: showing up when others needed help.

Cassie suffered a catastrophic spinal injury while volunteer firefighting at the Mt Archer fires in August, during a demanding, week-long fire campaign across the Rockhampton region. Throughout this, Cassie attended every single call our brigade received, turning up everyday for

Cassie has been diagnosed with Cauda Equina Syndrome, a serious medical condition caused by nerve compression at the base of the spine. She has not regained movement or control over parts of her body and was flown by the Royal Flying Doctor Service - Queensland to Brisbane on 11/12/2025 for specialist spinal care.
Recovery is slow and uncertain. Some days bring small wins; others bring painful setbacks. She is now facing a long hospital stay — approximately five months in Brisbane, followed by further time back in Rockhampton Hospital once she can return home.

As a result of her injuries, Brian, Cassie’s Husband has had to spend significant time at home caring for their children while also supporting Cass through her recovery. With Cass undergoing long-term treatment far from home, the impact on their family’s daily life has been profound, adding further emotional and financial strain during an already incredibly difficult time.

Cassie’s commitment to the Rural Fire Service has always been unwavering. Since joining the RFS and our brigade in 2022, she has maintained an attendance rate of over 95% of call outs. When our brigade wasn’t activated, she didn’t stand back — she volunteers to assist neighbouring brigades wherever help was needed.

Despite everything, Cass remains strong — but this road is long.

👉 This is where we can help.
Funds raised will support Cassie and her family throughout this prolonged recovery, including travel, accommodation, and essential home modifications to prepare for her return home.
