Honoured to receive the Sustainability Champion Award at the Pumicestone Awards 🏆🌿

A huge thank you to Ariana Doolan MP for the recognition and ongoing support of our work in the community.

It was also great to catch up with QLD Premier David Crisafulli MP , Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery and Steve Minnikin MP and share more about our programs supporting people living with disabilities and mental health struggles 🚤♻️

We’d also like to thank Cr Brooke Savige, Councillor Mark Booth and Terry Young MP for believing in our vision years ago to help create meaningful employment opportunities for people living with disabilities 💙

We’re incredibly grateful for the support from our community, volunteers and partners. Thank you for backing what we do 🙌

Hooks getting stuck in upholstery, sinkers banging on the boat and lures ending up where they shouldn’t… 🎣😅

Safety is always our number one priority on the water, which is why we trust the legends at to help protect our seats, upholstery and crew from stray hooks, lures and tackle. 🛥️🪝

Simple gear that makes a big difference when you spend a lot of time out on the water. 👌

Big thanks to the team at Rod Armour for helping keep our crew and the boat safer, cleaner and protected🔥

Today we received a completely unexpected donation from the incredible team at Bamboo Projects… and honestly, it meant so much more than just the dollars.

This is what real collaboration looks like.

Bamboo Projects are doing incredible work supporting people through mental health challenges and disability, creating connection, purpose, and community in ways that genuinely change lives. ()

It’s charities showing up for each other. Sharing knowledge, lessons learned, and backing one another—not because they have to, but because they believe in the bigger picture.

Chris and Kristy are absolute legends. The heart, drive, and authenticity behind what they’ve built is something special, and it’s inspiring to see what can happen when purpose leads the way.

Moments like this remind us that the real value isn’t in the financial support (as appreciated as that is)… it’s in the connection, the trust, and the shared mission to make a difference.

Imagine where the charity sector—and the world—could be if we all leaned into collaboration over competition.

Grateful beyond words. Proud to be walking this path alongside people like you.

If you haven’t already, check out the amazing work they’re doing:

Today’s Eco-Ability cleanup pulled more than 160kg out of the Maroochy River 💪 including car bumper bars, coppers logs, an office chair that’s definitely seen better days, and yes… a full Christmas tree (April feels a bit late for that one 😅)

Every trip like this is a reminder of what ends up in our waterways and what can be taken back out with the right crew. Solid effort from everyone involved 👏♻️

This project is proudly funded through the Queensland Government’s Community Sustainability Action Grants program.

A huge shoutout to Cotton Tree Holiday Park 💙♻️

They’ve proudly supported our recycling program for over 4 years, helping us turn containers into meaningful employment opportunities for people of all abilities 🙌

The Easter bunny left us plenty of containers instead of eggs this year 🐣♻️

Thanks for continuing to make an impact with us 💚

Are you taking part in a CLEAN UP FOR AUSTRALIA DAY activity tomorrow? Check the website to find an event near you 👉 https://www.cleanup.org.au/join-a-clean-up

1. Clean Up Australia Day began in 1990 thanks to one Aussie, Ian Kiernan, starting the movement 🧹 Now it’s the biggest community cleanup in the world 🙌
2. 22+ million Australians have joined a clean-up since it started 👏
3. Cigarette butts are the most common item found 🚬😬
4. Plastic is still the biggest problem in clean-ups ♻️🚫
5. Food wrappers & drink containers dominate litter counts 🍔🥤
6. Fishing line & tackle harm wildlife in waterways 🎣🦆
7. Inland litter often ends up in the ocean via drains 🌧️➡️🌊
8. Glass & metal litter has reduced thanks to recycling schemes 🍾👍
9. We still find tyres, trolleys & TVs 🛒📺
10. People who volunteer to clean up are less likely to litter again 🙌💚

🌊💙 This one has my mind working overtime…

We were recently contacted by our great friends at about something pretty special — and we didn’t hesitate.

They had been offered a brand new, computerised, 4WD beach mobility buggy, but due to not having the space to store it and the ability to use it right now, they immediately thought of us and asked if it could come to Our Mate-Ship.

And honestly… we jumped at the opportunity.

This incredible piece of equipment will help some of our less mobile veterans, emergency services members, families and carers access places they may not have been able to reach in years… or maybe ever.

And when you combine this with our upcoming wheelchair accessible vessel, it changes everything.

I can’t stop picturing it…

The boat pulls up.
The front door drops down.
And someone simply rolls forward — straight out onto a sandbank.

Maybe for the first time in their life.

And here’s the exciting part…

This buggy is 4WD — so it’s not just about beaches.

Imagine someone who’s never been able to get into the bush going on what feels like their first “bushwalk”.
Imagine accessing sand, bush tracks, riverbanks… places that most of us take for granted.

The freedom.
The dignity.
The quiet healing moments that nature brings.

We’ve got several ideas for how this can be used, and we genuinely can’t wait to see the impact it creates. We’ve even got the plans for it and are already envisioning a team of volunteers building more of these in the future — getting more of our less able-bodied community back onto the sand, into the bush, and back into nature.

And this is what happens when charities align and work together.

No competition.
No egos.
Just teamwork.

Because there will never be a shortage of people in our community who need support, connection, and experiences that restore their wellbeing.

A huge thank you to Bamboo Projects for thinking of us and for helping make this happen.

This isn’t just equipment.

It’s access.
It’s inclusion.
It’s possibility.
