Seniors Wellbeing Day at the Redcliffe Library. What a great day! We loved being able to connect with older residents and talk with them about our Safe Space program which is available for all ages.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by for a chat and to the photo-bombing koala who stole the show! 🐨💙

💙 Five years of Safe Space.

RAYS Safe Space, alongside Safe Spaces in Bardon, Caboolture and Strathpine recently celebrated five years of the Safe Space Network.

To mark the milestone, RAYS invited people who refer into the program to step inside a simulated Safe Space experience. They were able to meet with a Peer Worker, exploring the space and getting a feel for the activities, support and conversations guests can access.

People come to Safe Space for all sorts of reasons: connection, de-escalation, practical support or simply somewhere calm to be when things feel difficult.

At the heart of the program is its peer-led model. People with lived experience bring empathy, understanding and a different kind of connection to the support they provide, walking alongside each guest in a way that reflects what they need in that moment.

Five years on, Safe Space continues to show what can happen when people experiencing distress are genuinely welcomed into a calm, safe and inclusive space. Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this milestone. 💙
