UPCOMING EVENT AT THE HALL: How to Plan a Burn - Landholder Workshop

This event is being delivered in partnership with the Ipswich City Council and supported by the Queensland Fire & Biodiversity Consortium.

This practical workshop has been designed as the next step in property fire management planning: How to Plan a Burn.

The event is intended for landholders who are interested in taking steps to use fire as a management tool on their property, whether they have already developed a property fire management plan or not. This workshop is an interactive, outdoor walk-and-talk where we will demonstrate the concepts and build your understanding while looking at how it all fits together in the bush.

Attendees will be taken through:
The decision-making process required to determine an appropriate burn area.

Understanding regulations and permits.

On-ground preparation required.

The impacts of weather, slope and vegetation (including weeds).

Fuel hazard assessment techniques.

Ignition techniques.

Essential safety protocols and landholder responsibility.

Come prepared:
Due to the terrain and field component of this workshop, a reasonable level of fitness is required. Please contact us if you have any concerns about your ability to participate.

Make sure you bring:

Closed in shoes.

Long pants, long sleeves.

Reusable water bottle.

Hat.

Sunscreen.

Bushwalking gaiters (if you have them).

A place for locals to connect, share, & support one another, while raising some much needed funds for the Hall.

📢 WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU, Pine Mountain! 🫵

The Hall Committee is exploring the idea of a regular community market right here at the Pine Mountain Hall — a place for locals to connect, share, and support one another, while raising some much needed funds for the hall!

We’re imagining relaxed mornings with coffee, local stalls, plants, handmade goodies, and a few friendly faces — but we’d love to know what YOU want to see and how youd like to be involved

💬 Would you come along?
🛍️ Would you have a stall?
