Welcoming kids of all abilities, we help families connect, have fun and thrive. You Me and the Community is a family orientated organization where compassion is at the Heart of Our Care. We aim to help people with disabilities integrate into the community while also educating about inclusiveness. Our goal is to stand with our people as they go through all of life’s challenges and our mission is to serve their best interests and become a unified platform for our people’s service needs.

🎯 COME & TRY BOCCIA DAY – IPSWICH! 🎯

Looking for a fun, inclusive activity where everyone can get involved? Come along and give Boccia a go! 💚

Boccia is a Paralympic sport that focuses on strategy, precision and teamwork. Players can throw, roll or kick their balls as close as possible to the target ball — and no experience is needed!

Whether you’re completely new to Boccia or just want to try something different, we’d love to see you there!

Mums and Bubs this Tuesday, 6 October, is Pilates.

11am to 12pm at The Legacy Hub. Wear something comfortable and bring a water bottle and a yoga mat. Bubs come too, of course.

Community participation is the support most often funded and least often used well.

It gets written into a plan and then delivered as a drive to the shops.

What it should look like: ordering your own coffee for the first time. Learning which bus gets you into town. Finding a group where you are not the only one. Going back to something you used to love before it got hard.

That is why we built the Hub rather than adding another line to a service list. Three sessions a day, weekdays, and a fortnight of holiday program that has just finished with thirty odd children a day.

Three SDA vacancies across Acacia Ridge, Rocklea and Ormeau.

SDA availability is the thing coordinators ring about and rarely find.

Acacia Ridge, modern units, one vacancy, male or female. Rocklea, new units, two SDA vacancies. Ormeau, two bedroom SDA home with a roll in shower and grab rails, one female vacancy.

All three are accessible, low maintenance and close to local amenities.

You’re invited to YMC’s Christmas Carnival for an afternoon of community, connection and plenty of festive fun.

There’ll be carnival games, stalls, face painting and plenty to enjoy together.

Coffee out this morning, and Mums and Bubs runs at the same time as the holiday program.

Mums and Bubs is out for coffee today, 11am to 12pm.

If you have older kids, put them into an 11:30 holiday session and bring the baby with you. Both run at once.

Every parent who has planned an inclusive birthday party knows the feeling of ringing around and getting nowhere.

We built the party packages at Legacy because families kept telling us the same thing. Venues either could not accommodate their kid or made them feel like a problem for asking.

So here it is. The space, the setup, the activities, the room to move and a team who does not need it explained.

Every child on the guest list gets to actually be at the party.
