The Hervey Bay Community Hub will be OPEN on Monday 31 August! 🥳

From 31 August, you’ll be able to visit the brand new Hervey Bay Library and Council Customer Service Centre at their new home inside the Hervey Bay Community Hub at 23 Main Street, Pialba.

To prepare for the move:
⭐ The current Hervey Bay Library at Old Maryborough Road will close from 4pm on Saturday 1 August while the collection is relocated and the new library is prepared for opening. This will mean a closure of 4 weeks.
⭐ The Hervey Bay Council Customer Service Centre at Tavistock Street will remain open until Friday 28 August.
⭐ Hervey Bay Library programs and limited public computer access will be available at the Hervey Bay Regional Gallery during the closure period.
⭐ Borrowing and returns will not be available at Hervey Bay Library during the closure period. Other Fraser Coast Libraries will remain open, with extended loan periods planned for Hervey Bay customers.

We know many people have been eagerly awaiting this moment and cannot wait to welcome you through the doors from 31 August! 🤩

Today, the Fraser Coast Hospice Board has announced that it has rescinded its previous decision to enter Voluntary Administration and the Hospice will continue operating beyond 10 June 2026.

Over the past two weeks, our community has spoken loudly and clearly. Families shared their stories. Businesses stepped forward with support. Volunteers, staff, donors, sponsors, community groups, elected representatives and advocates rallied behind a service that means so much to the Fraser Coast.

The response has been nothing short of extraordinary.

The Board's decision reflects the confidence created by significant commitments of financial support and the overwhelming willingness of our community to help secure the future of local hospice care.

To everyone who has reached out, made a pledge, offered assistance, shared our message, or simply stood beside us during this difficult period - thank you.

While today's announcement provides renewed hope, our work is not done. The Hospice remains committed to building a sustainable future through strong community partnerships, responsible governance, operational improvements and ongoing fundraising initiatives.

As part of this commitment, public donations and the Heroes of Hospice Monthly Giving Program will reopen, providing our community with a direct opportunity to help ensure compassionate end-of-life care remains available for Fraser Coast families for many years to come.

The message we have received has been clear: our community wants to help.
We have listened.
