A huge thank you to the team at Cottesloe Dental for recently running their 'Raffle for a Reason' in support of Solaris Cancer Care 💛

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone at the practice, and in the local community, who got behind the raffle and helped raise funds for our cancer support services.

Fundraisers like this mean so much and make a big difference. They help us continue supporting people impacted by cancer, while also spreading the word about the services available through Solaris.

Congratulations to the lucky raffle winner, who took home a fantastic prize worth $400 - kindly donated by Cottesloe Dental.

Thank you for choosing to support Solaris, and to everyone who bought a ticket and helped make the raffle a success. Every act of kindness helps us be there for people when they need it most 💛

In Honour of Mark Lane 🤍🌊

It is with great sadness that we remember and honour Mark Lane, a much-loved member of the Solaris Cancer Care family and a wonderful supporter of our work.

Mark first came to Solaris Cancer Care as a client in 2017, and in the years that followed, he became one of our most passionate advocates. In 2019, Mark proudly took on the role of Solaris Ambassador, using his voice, his influence and his incredible generosity of spirit to help others facing cancer.

Mark understood firsthand the importance of support, connection and having somewhere to turn during one of life’s most difficult journeys. He gave back to Solaris with the same kindness and selflessness that he showed so many people throughout his life.

Mark was a remarkable man, a respected leader in Australian surfing, a mentor, a coach, a father, a husband, a friend and someone who had an extraordinary ability to make people feel valued and believed in.

His contribution to the surfing community was immense, but his greatest legacy will always be the people he touched. His kindness, wisdom, encouragement and genuine care for others will live on through the many lives he influenced.

We extend our deepest condolences to Mark’s beloved wife Elizabeth, his children, family, friends and the entire surfing and wider community who are grieving this incredible loss.

From all of us at Solaris Cancer Care, thank you, Mark, for believing in our work, for sharing your story, for standing beside us and for helping us give people affected by cancer more life and more time.

You will be deeply missed, but your legacy of kindness, courage and giving back will continue.

Rest peacefully, Mark. 🕊️🤍🌊
Forever a part of the Solaris family.

Did you know that singing in a group has been shown to reduce stress and enhance mood?
Studies have also shown singing releases endorphins, promotes better lung function and circulation, enhances memory and mental alertness!

Every Wednesday morning at Solaris Cottesloe we run a social singing group in our hall (great acoustics by the way), where you can enjoy the benefits of belting out a good tune. No experience needed - come as you are 💛

Stick around afterwards for a cuppa and a friendly chat. Just a short stroll from Grant Street train station, come along and make a morning of it! 🎶

If you're interested in joining our CareSong sessions, each Wednesday from 10.15am, book your place online -

"We move to release what we’ve been carrying, we breathe to calm the nervous system and we slow down enough to hear ourselves again." 💛

Wise and welcoming words from Nicola Garcia, who instructs at our weekly Wednesday yoga class at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

"There is no perfect body, no expectation to perform, and no need to keep up. Just an invitation to arrive exactly as you are."

Yoga is an important part of Solaris’ holistic approach to supporting people during cancer treatment. Gentle poses can improve flexibility and strength, as well as balance. And breath-focused practices help reduce stress and anxiety.

We'd love you to join Nicola, from Temple Lane Studio, at 9.30am Wednesdays at the Solaris Centre SCGH. To book your place, call Solaris at Sir Charles Gairdner 6383 3475 or email: [email protected]

If you are interested in exploring the mind-body connection by taking part in yoga, we have several classes across our centres during the week. Check out our monthly timetables and join in -
