Don't Go Astray Inc - Helping Animals In Need Don't Go Astray Inc. help surrendered and stray animals in need. Don't Go Astray helps animals in need, giving them the second chance they deserve.

We assist with veterinary treatment, rehabilitation, fostering and re-homing of animals that just want to be loved. Our not-for-profit organisation was formed in June 2018, and within six months was honoured with the RSPCA Humane Award – a huge deal for newcomers such as ourselves. This encouragement has galvanised our passion and commitment and we became a registered not for profit February 2019. Driven by a shared desire to make a positive impact, our team's mission is to make a difference in the lives of surrendered and stray animals. Each member of Don't Go Astray comes from the veterinary and animal rescue industry, pooling a broad range of complementary skills. Together, our aim is not just to care for animals, but to provide assistance for people unable to meet the financial cost of emergency veterinary care.

ROCKO - American Staffy X (9 weeks old) Aka. Mr Sassy Pants.

✅️ Full of love.
✅️ Loves a snuggle.
✅️ I come with sharky teeth - i am still learning with my mouth.
✅️ Would love another doggy companion (will have to be female).
✅️ I am a typical boisterous puppy and I love rough play. My doggy companion will need to match my energy.
✅️ I will be a medium - large breed dog.
✅️ I will need discipline and training. Currently, I am learning basic commands.
✅️ Due to sharky behaviours, I must be housed with kids 7yrs +.
✅️ I want a forever family who will include me in adventures when I am ready.

✨ Who remembers Twinkle, now lovingly known as Dakoda? (10 months old) ✨

Dakoda was just 4 weeks old when police seized this precious little puppy from her previous home due to concerns for her welfare. With the help of the local rangers, she was brought straight into DGA’s care. ❤️

She went directly into a loving foster home, where she was understandably timid and unsure of the world around her. But after just a few days, her beautiful little personality started to shine through.

It didn’t take long for Dakoda to find her forever family - the people who would give her the love, patience and safety she deserved. 🥰

Because of her early trauma, Dakoda can still be wary of strangers and a little shy, but she is learning every day that the world can be a safe and loving place.

These days, she spends her time being the ultimate couch potato, running around the family farm and making friends with the horses. 🐴🐾

From a tiny, frightened puppy who needed someone to save her, to a happy girl surrounded by love…

Dakoda’s life is now full of kindness, love and the happily-ever-after she always deserved. ❤️✨

Cash - is now a teenager 🥹 (5 months old).

Cash came to DGA at just 4 weeks of age. He was surrendered due to possible head trauma. He looked a bit like a rhino at first, but luckily he had a speedy recovery and took charge of his foster carers house and his little personality shone bright.

Soon after recovery we found him the perfect home, well they found us! As soon as they saw his little photo they knew he was the one.

Cash had such a "ruff" start but ended up finding the people who love him the most, his forever family 🥰.

We can't believe he is a teenager now.
He's still just as cuddly as ever and loves his sister Lycka.

This is what rescue is all about - a second chance at a forever home 🤍🖤.

Well done Cash.

ROCKO (Since he was found in Rockingham).

Look who's out of the Animal Hospital and straight into foster care 🧡.

Rocko is on a strict diet of sunshine (of course only in the backyard), cuddles and lots of rest while still in recovery.

He is so thankful for everyone's help - I mean look at that SMILE 😃.

UPDATE ON OUR LITTLE MAN ❤️🐾

Our little man is spending his second night at the Animal Hospital, where he is being cared for around the clock by the amazing team of vets and nurses.

Following his ultrasound, he has been diagnosed with gastric stasis (gastroparesis) a condition where the stomach’s muscles slow down or stop contracting properly, meaning food cannot move normally through to the small intestine.

For now, we need to see him eating better and showing signs of improvement before he can move into foster care. Until then, he is in the very best hands, receiving plenty of love, cuddles and round-the-clock care from the wonderful nurses and vets looking after him. ❤️

We’re keeping all our fingers and toes crossed that he continues to improve and will soon be ready for the next step in his journey. 🐾

A HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated so far. Because of your incredible generosity, we have already raised over $300 towards his veterinary care. His hospital bill is currently sitting at around $1,200, and that doesn’t yet include tonight’s care.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, helps us continue to say yes to precious babies like this little guy when they need us most.

Without your support, we simply couldn’t save these precious babies. ❤️🐾

Thank you for helping us give him the chance he deserves. 🙏

We received the call today to help this little guy in need. 💙

He was found alone on the streets, and unfortunately, he is quite unwell.

He has blood in his urine, elevated protein levels and a significant amount of nasty diarrhoea (negative for Parvovirus).

The vets are working hard to determine what is causing him to be so sick and to get him the treatment he desperately needs.

He is being cared for around the clock tonight by an amazing team and is receiving fluids while they closely monitor him and hope to see some improvement.

If he doesn’t improve overnight, he may need an ultrasound tomorrow to help get some answers.

For now, he is safe, receiving care and surrounded by people fighting for him. ❤️🐾

Please keep this little guy in your thoughts tonight. 🙏

Meet Valya!
11 weeks old, female tabby, medium hair

Valya and her siblings came into care when their pregnant mama was trapped in an industrial area, Mama has had her vetwork done and has found a home with a lovely lady. All three kittens have adjusted easily to foster care and have taken to their adult foster brother!

Valya is extremely soft and sweet, but she has a cheeky side. Valya is the most likely to attempt to rush the forbidden room doors or grab her foster brother, Arthur's tail. She has a habit of leading the other kittens astray! She's got a very easy purr and a lazy attitude compared to her siblings.

If you think you have room in your heart and home for Valya, please head to our website and submit an adoption form: https://dontgoastray.org/adopt-foster/

All DGA cats and kittens are rehomed to indoor only homes and sterilised, microchipped, vaccinated and up to date with flea and worming.

If you aren't able to adopt a new friend at this stage, but would like to support us in rescuing more animals like Valya, please donate:

Meet Griff!
11 weeks old, Male Ginger

Griff and his siblings came into care when their pregnant mama was trapped in an industrial area, Mama has had her vetwork done and has found a home with a lovely lady. All three kittens have adjusted easily to foster care and have taken to their adult foster brother!

Griff is extremely affectionate and really seeks support and comfort from his human foster family. He wants to sleep by you on the couch or in bed and he is most in his element when he's with you. He loves to play, but much more slowly and gentler than his siblings.

If you think you have room in your heart and home for Griff, please head to our website and submit an adoption form: https://dontgoastray.org/adopt-foster/

Meet Tula!
11 weeks old, female tabby/torti
Tula and her siblings came into care when their pregnant mama was trapped in an industrial area, Mama has had her vetwork done and has found a home with a lovely lady. All three kittens have adjusted easily to foster care and have taken to their adult foster brother!

Tula is very prey driven and absolutely loves to play. She will play with her beloved red dot or a wand toy until she is panting, never getting sick of the game! She loves to wrestle with her siblings and create games out of the furniture.

She's not yet seeking out human affection, but if you pick her up or give her a cuddle she immediately starts purring and loves a back rub.

If you think you have room in your heart and home for Tula, please head to our website and submit an adoption form: https://dontgoastray.org/adopt-foster/
