Our heartfelt condolences to the family for their sad and tragic loss

Northern Territory Police can confirm the body of the 61-year-old man reported missing at Edith Falls has been located.

The man’s body was located by police divers during a search of the lower plunge pool this morning.

His family has been notified, and police are providing support to his wife.

Police extend their sincere condolences to the man’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

Police would also like to thank Parks and Wildlife NT Rangers, and all personnel involved in the search for their assistance.

The death is not believed to be suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.

As we recognise National Child Protection Week and this year's theme, 'Every Conversation Matters: Shifting Conversations to Action', we're highlighting the important role everyone in sport plays in creating environments where children and young people feel safe, valued and respected.

Safeguarding is a key pillar of sport integrity. By encouraging positive behaviours, addressing harmful conduct and empowering children and young people to speak up, we can help ensure sport remains a place where participants can thrive.

This week, we'll be sharing safeguarding resources and introducing 'Safe Sport Together', a new resource designed to help sporting organisations promote positive behaviour and respond effectively to harmful behaviour between children and young people.

For the first swimming lessons, the shoulder rides in the shallows, and the "one more jump" you always said yes to. Thank you for the patience, the encouragement and the memories made by the water.

We completed the NT show circuit, acknowledged World Drowning Prevention Day and celebrated our Members at the NT Administrator's Medal Award evening at Government House.
