AIR is the peak National body advocating for self-funded retirees - or those planning to be fully or partly self-funded in their retirement. Limited. Who are we?

Income from superannuation, private savings or defined benefit pensions are all considered self-funding. About the Australian Independent Retirees (A.I.R.) First formed in 1990, AIR is a national not for profit, non-party political organisation. It's a volunteer organisation that works to advance and protect the interests and independent lifestyle of Australians aged over 50, in or approaching, retirement. Office bearers at all levels are volunteers. Their efforts are supplemented by committees and special interest groups made up of members of the organisation. Who are our Members? Australians, aged over 50 who are, or plan, to fully or in part self-fund their future. People who have built a degree of independence in their lifestyle. Corporate service providers who support the aims and objectives of the organisation. What do we do? Seek equitable economic, taxation and social environment outcomes that recognise and address the specific issues faced by those who fully or partly self-fund their retirement by representing the views and concerns of our members to Government at all levels. Conduct research, prepare submissions and advocate to all levels of Government on issues relevant to the living standards and lifestyle of self-funded retirees. Provide opportunities for members to meet and share views on a range of matters in a welcoming, inclusive social atmosphere at our Branch meetings. Provide information, services and resources through a range of media. Enter into mutually beneficial arrangements with organisations who share a similar vision to AIR.

Yesterday's meeting covered several topics. Thank you Andrew Stafford (Morgans Noosa) for leading the IDG discussion. We also had presentations from 3 Noosa Branch members on share selection experiences both good and bad, a house insurance claim experience and on the positive side of ageing. Homework: let me know what is the best art of ageing?

At tomorrow's meeting we will welcome Andrew Stafford (Morgans Noosa) who will facilitate an informal discussion about the current state of the market; geopolitical events and an interesting upcoming IPO Morgans are launching next week. After morning tea we will continue the meeting with a Members' Forum. See you there. Bring a friend who could benefit from a morning of financial insights and improving their financial literacy.

Share Competition results for September - early as Matthew Auger is going on leave: 1st place - still Tony M. with 18.89% gain, 2nd Ted M. with 16.16% gain and 3rd Frank O. with 11.57% gain. Collective Wisdom minus 3.89%. Slightly lower than last month overall. See you this Thursday at the church.
