😀We couldn’t possibly leave you stat‑less for a whole 2 weeks. That wouldn’t be fun, un-Australian and practically a breach of the parkrun constitution (which we assume is written on the back of a barcode tag).

So if you’ve wondered who holds our course records, finished first the most, how much we’ve grown over the years, or whether North Sydney parkrun has finally overtaken the Harbour Bridge in total foot traffic… wonder no more.

So strap in, stat lovers! Your weekly numerical nourishment has arrived, and it’s friendlier than a doggo in St Leonards Park! 🧐📊

North Sydney parkrunners and tourists, consider this your friendly Friday tap on the shoulder: do NOT turn up tomorrow morning.

Sydney Marathon is currently taking over the park, and if you appear in your barcode best, you will officially become that person: the one wandering around St Leonards Park like a lost sock looking for its washing machine.

Stay home. Sleep in. Hydrate. Stretch. Pretend you’re carb‑loading for something important. Or flirt with another parkrun, but you’ll be thinking of us! 🤗

We’ll be back next week, fresher, faster, and you’ll be far less likely to be mistaken for a confused marathoner who’s arrived 24 hours early.

⛔️🚨No North Sydney parkrun this Saturday!🚨⛔️
Sydney Marathon is moving into the park and, frankly, they’ve brought enough stuff with them to make our 5km look like a backyard BBQ. 😂

With the park being used for marathon setup, there’ll be no North Sydney parkrun this Saturday, 29th August.

So enjoy a sleep-in, visit another parkrun, cheer on the marathon crew, or simply spend Saturday morning wondering what on earth people normally do at 8am.🤔

🫥Everyone’s going to be feeling a little stat‑shaped hole next Sunday, as North Sydney parkrun is taking a breather to let the Sydney Marathon commandeer the park!

But today’s numbers absolutely earned their week off. Elaine dropped a monster 250 milestone, cool as you like, while the finish funnel briefly turned into a human conveyor belt with almost one person per second crossing the line around the 28 minute mark!

So lap up the stats whilst you’ve got them, and they’ll be back in a couple of weeks! 🧐📊

😀The best morning! The sun was out, the sky was showing off, and 467 of you arrived ready to absolutely demolish a 5k like it owed you money.

But before you get too comfortable… we are NOT on next week. The Sydney Marathon is rolling in, taking over our park, our paths, and probably any hope of parking within a 3km radius. So enjoy the sleep‑in, go touristing, and get ready to stand on a street corner yelling encouragement at strangers running 42.2 km.

We’ll be back the week after, refreshed, recharged, and ready for more North Sydney jazz.

A massive THANK YOU to our 31 volunteers today who looked like they’d rehearsed it! Without our vollies, our parkrun doesn’t happen! Our roster is never full and everyone is welcome to join in ❤️🦺

More folk rolled into town for next week’s Sydney Marathon. We welcomed visitors from Canada 🇨🇦, Norway 🇳🇴, and Darlington in the UK 🇬🇧. All up, we had 45 visitors enjoy our parkrun for the first time today! Wherever you came from, we hope you had fun and hope to see you back at North Sydney parkrun soon! 🌍

It was also fantastic to welcome our local parkrun Event Directors from Centennial, Mosman, St Peter’s and Wildflower, Willoughby, as well as our parkrun Area Ambassador too. So good to see you all!! ❤️

With the Sydney Marathon rolling into town, it’s the perfect chance for all you tapering heroes to swap kilometres for kindness.

If you’re resting those legs, come exercise your volunteer muscles instead as they’re low‑impact, high‑reward, and scientifically proven to make you feel 37% smugger* than a carb‑loading marathoner. Jump on the roster, grab a vest, and help us keep the happiest 5k in Sydney running smoother than a taper week playlist.
(*study conducted by us, naturally very reliable)

🤩💪North Sydney parkrun officially crossed the 100,000 finisher threshold. It was just over 8 years in the making of glorious chaos, heroic hills, and the making of the best community in town.

At our current rate of ~450 finishers a week, the next 100k will arrive in just 4 years, which is just a tad crazy 🤪

And yesterday, we were basically a PB conveyor belt. A massive 18% of the field nabbed a PB, confirming PB hunting season remains open, and apparently very successful.

So get on into the numbers and enjoy! 🧐📊

🎉100,000 Finishes at North Sydney parkrun🎉 🤩 One massive milestone was reached today. Today we had our 100,000th finisher, meaning our finish line has been crossed 100,000 times and we’ve handed out over 100,000 finish tokens!

😎It is our amazing community that has made this possible. If you’ve ever walked, jogged, run or volunteered with North Sydney parkrun - you’ve made this happen!

❤️ A few big THANK YOU’s are due. THANK YOU Matt D for founding North Sydney parkrun and starting something special! THANK YOU Sini P and Chris O for helping to shape the amazing event and community that we’ve become today. THANK YOU to North Sydney Council for allowing us to enjoy the wonderful St Leonards Park every Saturday. We loved welcoming an international field of visitors today as folk headed to town for the upcoming Sydney Marathon. We welcomed visitors from Canada 🇨🇦, Switzerland 🇨🇭, and Norfolk in the UK 🇬🇧. We also loved meeting tourists from closer to home with Port Macquarie and Tasmania represented 🇦🇺! All up, we had a 55 visitors enjoy our parkrun for the first time today! Wherever you came from, we hope you had fun and hope to see you back at North Sydney parkrun soon! 🌍
