Practicing our cutting skills in the Toddler room.
Start by allowing your child to hold the scissors correctly ( they will need a bit of help with this)
A good way to start them off cutting is to roll out some playdough and encourage your child to cut off pieces. ( playdough is nice and soft to cut through) As their cutting skills improve, move on to cutting paper. ✂️✂️✂️

Wow look what we won !!!!
Thank you to Perth Glory and the Mirrabooka Library for our wonderful prize.
Our children visit the Mirrabooka library on a weekly basis , to interact with the community and to listen to story time. We went over to the Libray on the 26th May to be involved in the simultaneous story time and our children were given a Luna Roo colouring in sheet to do after they heard the story being read . Our little budding artist did a fantastic job of colouring in the sheet and came home with the goods, a Glory cap signed by the players and a book Luna Roo , also signed by the players.

This week we learned about world ocean day and how to keep all our rubbish in the bin and not in the ocean. We talked about what lived in the ocean and what pollution does to the water and all the beautiful creatures that live in it.
Then it was time for a trip to the shops to buy some new fish for our fish tank. Our children were so excited choosing their fish and watching the lady catch them so they could bring them back to the centre.

Today we had a visit from Jody from the Smith Family , who is running this program as a mental health initiative.
Jody came with her trolley full of natural material ( sticks,gum nuts, pods,twine and clay) and a wealth of knowledge which she shared with the children.
Our children really enjoyed moulding the clay into different shapes and decorating it with different materials.
