We are incredibly proud to celebrate our wonderful team member, Natasha Bwembya, and her extraordinary journey of courage, resilience and purpose. 💜
Just weeks after her wedding, Natasha was diagnosed with leukaemia. While undergoing treatment, she began a Master of Public Health from her hospital bed, continuing her studies through chemotherapy and ultimately graduating with distinction.
“One day you’re the nurse, the next day you’re the patient,” she says. “And that changes everything about how you see healthcare.”
Natasha’s experience as a nurse, migrant and patient has deepened her commitment to making healthcare more accessible and culturally responsive. Today, she brings her nursing and public health expertise to her work with migrant and refugee women, turning her own experience into meaningful change for others.
Natasha’s story is a powerful reminder that our circumstances do not define our future. We are deeply grateful to have her as part of the Ishar team and inspired every day by the empathy, strength and dedication she brings to our community. 🌿✨
