The Middleton Community Association is a small group of local volunteers who give their time freely to make our town an even better place to live, work and visit.
Projects like our new Middleton sign don’t simply “happen”. Our volunteers worked to raise funds, apply for grant funding, seek support and approvals, and brought together contributions from the RAA, the community, Alexandrina Council and the Middleton Tavern Sports & Social Club to make it possible.
We’re incredibly proud that, by working together, we have been able to deliver a small project that will hopefully join in to make people drive slower and more carefully through our busy and beautiful town.
We have noticed a few comments asking why money wasn’t instead spent fixing potholes and roads. Just to clarify, the Middleton Community Association is not a government department or road authority, and we don’t have the responsibility — or the budget — to repair roads.
What we can do is roll up our sleeves, volunteer our time, raise money and seek grants and sponsorship to fund projects that enhance Middleton and build community pride.
And that is exactly what this project represents.
So rather than making comments about potholes on this page, how about a round of applause for our fabulous community project, and take the time to lobby the Department of Transport about the horrendous state of our roads 😉.
