We recently had the privilege of celebrating our Cub, Kaysanne, and her Grey Wolf Peak Award achievement. It was wonderful to have our local member, Julia Finn MP attend and also speak about the achievement in Parliament on 28 May. It was a lovely evening if celebration and inspiration.

🏕️GWS JAMBORETTE 2026🏕️

Over the June Long Weekend, our Scouts spent the weekend exploring world biomes through a range of exciting activities, building their camping, teamwork, problem-solving and outdoor skills along the way. From life in camp to tackling new challenges and making memories with Scouts from across the region, it was a weekend full of adventure, learning and plenty of fun!

A huge thank you to all the leaders, Venturers, Rovers and volunteers who helped make the experience possible.

🔥Camp Cooking🔥

Last week, Scouts had the opportunity to make a campfire and cook their dinner on it. Unfortunately due to the rain they were unable to cook their meal but they persevered in the kitchen, gaining new skills in chopping, cooking and food hygiene.

Scouts had a great time making Stir-Fry getting ready for Jamborette this June long weekend!!!

⚜️GLOW at Sydney Zoo ⚜️

Rover Scouts is all about exploring our community and trying new things. Last night our Rovers braved the cold to experience GLOW at the Sydney Zoo. It was stunningly beautiful.

Rovers are scouts aged 18-26, and meet on Sunday nights at 1st/2nd Merrylands from 7PM-9PM, if you’re interested, flick them a PM and they’ll be in contact with you shortly!

🥾 Blind Hike 🥾

Last week, Scouts were driven to an unknown location, given a map and a compass and told to meet the leaders at destination on their map.

This was a wild challenge but Scouts completed it learning about teamwork, communication & community along the way!

All in preparation for Jamborette coming up!!!

🔥Who says vennies can't cook? 🔥

Nothing beats the smell of steak and sausages sizzling over hot coals while potatoes slow cook in the fire on master chef night. 🔥🌭🥔

It's safe to say we’re surviving the next camping trip! 😂

No stove, no kitchen… just fire, smoke, and slightly questionable cooking decisions.

The potatoes took forever... the sausages disappeared instantly... somehow everything tastes better when it’s cooked outside! 🏕️

Next mission: the best beef stew GWS Jamborette has ever seen.

Our Joeys and Vennies love having Larissa as one of their Leaders. We may be biased, but we definitely have the best Leaders a group could ask for. So thankful for our Leaders and their commitment to making fun and engaging programs for our youth. 🙌
