💉 Free FluMist Program Ends Today (Thursday 11 June) at 5pm ⏰

The Pharmacy Free FluMist Program has been highly successful and will officially conclude at 5:00pm today, Thursday 11 June 2026.

🔑 Key Actions Required

Pharmacists are requested to:
✅ Review all scheduled appointments
✅ Ensure all FluMist vaccinations are accurately recorded in MedAdvisor, Dragatron or Light by 5:00pm today

⚠️ Please note: Any vaccinations entered after this time will not be eligible for claiming.

💙 Ongoing Service Provision

The Guild thanks pharmacists for their continued commitment to improving vaccination uptake among vulnerable populations 🙌

While the NSW Government-funded program ends today, pharmacists should continue to offer FluMist as a private service to patients.

🎖️ Congratulations to Nick Logan OAM

The Pharmacy Guild of Australia (NSW Branch) proudly congratulates Nick Logan on being awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the 2026 King’s Birthday Honours.

Nick has been recognised for service to the pharmacy profession, a fitting tribute to his longstanding commitment to community pharmacy, patient care and professional leadership.

His dedication to advancing the role of pharmacists and improving health outcomes within the community reflects the very best of our profession.

💉 Free FluMist Program Ends Thursday 11 June 2026, 5pm

The free FluMist program has been incredibly successful. Since 1 April, NSW pharmacists have delivered over 12,000 free doses to eligible children, and now the program has been extended with a final allocation of funding.

This program has been an excellent demonstration of the work that community pharmacy can do to roll out vaccinations quickly, safely and with high levels of accessibility.

📅 The program will conclude at 5:00pm, Thursday 11 June 2026.

Key reminders for pharmacists:
• Review all scheduled appointments
• Ensure all vaccinations are recorded in MedAdvisor, Dragatron or Light by the deadline

⚠️ Late entries will not be eligible for claiming

State-funded stock:
• Prioritise FluMist stock expiring 5 June 2026
• $20.05 administration fee remains claimable
• Does not count towards program cap

While the NSW Government-funded program is concluding, FluMist can continue to be offered as a private service.

Thank you to all pharmacists supporting increased vaccination uptake across the community.

A major step forward for women’s health in NSW 👏

From this Friday, eligible women aged 18–39 will be able to access the oral contraceptive pill directly through trained community pharmacists, making care faster, more convenient and more affordable without needing a GP visit.

The NSW Government will cover the first 5,000 consultations, with 30 trained pharmacists ready to begin prescribing across metro and regional areas and numbers expected to grow to around 250 by the end of the year as more complete training.

NSW Vice President Catherine Bronger joined Premier Chris Minns, Minister for Health Ryan Park, and Jo Haylen MP for the announcement, highlighting the important role pharmacists play in delivering safe, accessible healthcare for women.

This is a practical reform that reduces barriers, saves time and money and makes better use of one of the most accessible healthcare professionals in our system. 💊 Thanks to the NSW Labor Government for supporting women across NSW and to the NSW Opposition for providing bipartisan support for this important health initiative.
