Summer is quickly approaching, now is the time to start preparing your property.

*Clean gutters
*Store fuels and chemicals away from your home
*Move wood piles away from your home
*Prune shrubs and cut back over hanging tree branches
*keep grass low between 5-10cm

Please register your burn off either through 1800 668 511 operating 24/7 or online www.firepermits.vic.gov.au
If your burn off light up time is with in 2 hours of trying to register you will have to call.

Cooking, burn-offs, campfires, hot work, fireworks. Sparks, embers and flames from many activities can cause fires.

The next few months you will see the us out an about. Starting with our fundraising BBQ at Bunnings shepparton on the 29th of August if your heading over for Nerdmania or the city market pop down say Hi and grab a snag.

September will have us busy with our pre season training and planning.

We also have our pre season campaign kicking off at Wheels at the Gum as part of the emergancy services display on the 11th of October with Little Ash Truck in attendance.

This is followed by our Station Open Day on the 25th October 10-2pm with a speacial visit from Captian Koala.

Last night our Brigade headed over to mooroopna for live fire training.
This prop simulates what would happen if fire compromised an LPG tank.

The Merrigum primary school trivia night has been postponed until 1st term of next year, with the raffle being drawn on 11th of September 2026.

Looking for something to do tomorrow with the kids there is a Tree planting session at Dunyak Moria the old water storage ponds beside the hall hopefully the weather will be sunny.

Dont forget your gumboots🥾 registration is preferred but not essential.
