The Kyabram RSL Sub-Branch express their appreciation to the community of Kyabram and surrounding districts for their participation on ANZAC Day 2026.

This was the largest participation at ANZAC Day in recent years with an estimated 550-600 people attending.

We would also like to thank the local companies that support ANZAC Day year after year, and each person who assists in any way however small as it makes a large task easier.

This year a special thanks to Annita Wilkinson our guest speaker who had people in awe of what women, wives and mothers go through whilst serving in the armed forces.

Thank you Kyabram

Lest we Forget

This year is the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.

"At the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, the guns of the Western Front fell silent. Hundreds of thousands of Australian men and women have served Australia in conflicts since then, be it at Kokoda in the Second World War to the deserts and mountains of Afghanistan. By observing that minute's silence, we keep alive the values of peace, courage, and commitment that our service personnel stood for," said RSL Victoria President Dr. Mark Schröffel

"The act of remembrance is a simple yet powerful gesture that links every one of us to those who sacrificed so much for the freedoms we enjoy today. I urge all Victorians to pause their day for just one minute," Dr. Schröffel added.

EVENT NOT TO BE MISSED!! 800 HORSEMEN
Happening Friday, October 31st at 6pm at the Kyabram Cemetery.

LIGHT HORSE COMMEMORATION
A tribute to the 4th Brigade of Australian Light Horsemen who took part in the Charge of Beersheba 106 years ago will be held at the Kyabram Cemetery at the end of the month.
Several horses and their uniformed riders will be the centrepiece of the commemoration, to be held at the Lone Pine / ANZAC Memorial 3rd Avenue at Kyabram Cemetery on Friday, October 31st, at 6pm. Please bring your own chair.

Families are encouraged to mingle with the horsemen and their mounts. There will also be a free sausage sizzle to follow the service. Donations to INDI Lighthorse Regiment and Kyabram Lions Club appreciated.

The charge of the 4th Australian Light Horse at Beersheba late in the afternoon of October 31, 1917, is remembered as the last great cavalry charge. Around 800 Light Horsemen charged across open desert with bayonets in hand and flew over the Turk trenches to capture the town of Beersheba and gain access to much-needed water wells.

The commemoration is being organised jointly by the Kyabram RSL Sub Branch, Kyabram Cemetery Trust, Kyabram Club and the Kyabram Historical Society.
