We provide safe crisis accommodation for young people aged 16 - 25 who are facing or at risk of homelessness. Kalyan Youth Service is a not-for-profit community organisation supporting young people in the Mackay region. Since establishment in 1985, Kalyan is managed by a committee of local volunteers. ing, or are at risk of homelessness. Kalyan predominately accommodates young people from Mackay and surrounding regions in the Kalyan crisis shelter and transitional accommodation units. The shelter consists of 6 lockable bedrooms, with a capacity of 3 males and 3 females, and 6 self-contained transitional units. Kalyan Youth Service is funded by the Queensland Department of Communities, Housing and Digital Economy (Housing and Homelessness Service).
