Do you know where your flowers are grown?

With around half of the cut flowers sold in Australia imported from overseas, being able to buy flowers grown right here in Mackay is such a special treat.

Here’s a little glimpse inside The Gerbera Connection’s garden. This is where your Saturday morning flowers are grown, just 3.5 kilometres by road from the River Wharves Breakfast Collective.

No international flights or long interstate journeys for these blooms. Just locally grown flowers, travelling from Sonia’s garden to your home.

This is what the end of the day looks like here: sunlight pouring through the shade house, and row after row of gerberas facing it.

Every bench is bursting with colour right now, and some of these beauties are varieties you simply won't find anywhere else.

Grown right here in Australia, acclimatised to our conditions.

Spring is the perfect time to plant gerberas. They'll reward you with months of cheerful blooms, they're brilliant in pots or garden beds, and they make the kind of gift that keeps on giving.

What a lineup we have at the River Wharves Breakfast Collective this Saturday!

Soi Rich Thai is back with delicious Thai breakfast options, including skewers, congee and mango sticky rice.

Madame Meringue returns with beautiful meringues and some special treats for your Halloween festivities, should you be partaking!

Boat Ramp Bakehouse is back too! We know you’ve missed your sourdough and freshly baked pastries, so there’ll be plenty on board.

Happy Bagel joins us again with freshly baked North American style bagels — we really do have your baked goods covered this week.

The Gerbera Connection will have an abundance of beautiful, freshly picked flowers, all grown locally in North Mackay.

Whiskd will be serving matcha and delicious cold drinks, while Papa Ben keeps the coffee flowing.

And don’t forget free yoga and guided meditation with Shell from 7am, weather permitting.

We welcomed SOI RICH Thai food to our Breakfast Collective yesterday and they were an instant hit with some of our Saturday morning customers - especially the mango sticky rice!

If you couldn’t make it down yesterday, they will be back this Saturday with plenty of delicious Thai food on board.

The menu changes, so be sure to follow their page to keep an eye on their socials as well as ours own later in the week to see what’s cooking.

The weekend is almost upon us and we have you sorted to get it started just the right way!

Start with a free gentle stretch and guided meditation with Michell Hyde - Blue Lotus Love from 7am, weather dependent. Grab a matcha from Whiskd Matcha Bar or a cup of coffee from Papa Bens Coffee Van take a stroll and pick up a bunch of fresh locally grown flowers The Gerbera Connection.

We’re also welcoming a new food vendor tomorrow! Introducing SOI RICH joining us with some delicious Thai delights.

Sorry, there’ll be no sourdough or pastries this week but we look forward to seeing you all down there tomorrow morning.
