🕸 Book Week may be over, but the Night Bus still needs heroes! 📚

We had a little visitor on the bus for Book Week… 🕷️👀
But you don’t need to wear a superhero suit to make a difference!

Our Night Bus relies on volunteers to help provide a safe, welcoming place for people experiencing homelessness. We’re looking for people who are willing to lend a hand and be part of something that makes a real difference in our community. ❤️

We often have lovely people asking... 'How can I help?' so we have compiled a list of ways you can assist...💙

FREE ways to help:
- LIKE, COMMENT & SHARE our social media posts to help us reach more people
- Spread the word amongst your family & friends
- We are always on the look out for any community grants & fundraising opportunities...so give us a heads up if you know of anything.

DONATING items:
- Donate non perishable/ready to eat, packaged foods for our homelessnes pantry & weekend packs.
- Donate items such as sleeping bags, lightweight tents, insect spray, torches, backpacks, toiletries, first aid supplies etc.
(All physical item donations can be dropped off at 2 Endeavour Street during opening hours)

MONETARY assistance:

💙 A LITTLE NOTE ABOUT DONATIONS 💙

We are incredibly lucky to have such a generous community here in Mackay & we’re always grateful when people think of Chances House when they have items they would like to donate. 🏠
We just wanted to give everyone a little reminder that unfortunately, we aren’t able to accept all donated items.
As a drop-in service, we have limited storage space, so we need to be mindful of what we can safely store & most importantly what our clients currently need.
There are also certain items we may not be able to accept due to our procedures & requirements at the time. Our needs can change regularly, so before bringing donations down, please contact Chances House to check what we are currently accepting.
Please know that when we’re unable to accept something, it certainly doesn’t mean we don’t appreciate the offer. Every person who thinks of Chances House & wants to help someone doing it tough in our community means so much to us. 💙

IT'S GAME DAY!!

Chances Night Bus will be cheering on the Mackay Cutters at BB Print Stadium this evening.

Come by for a chat with our amazing volunteers between 4pm-7pm to discuss all things Night Bus.

There is also a $100 fuel voucher up for grabs for those who take a selfie with the Night Bus and tag Chances House on Facebook.
