An amazing way to spend World Polio Day - vaccinating babies and young children to prevent polio. Two District 9560 Rotarians and PK Polio Koala joined a 20+ contingent of Rotarians from Australia, Belgium, USA and India. A Polio Awareness Rally and five Vaccination Booths near Agra, India were coordinated by the RC Tajmahal.

PK Polio Koala visited the Rotary South Asia office with Rotarians yesterday, and now is strapped in for the trip to Agra, ready for World Polio Day.

One of the projects we support.

Thanks to for their sponsorship towards our 2026 camp. The packs also came with a water bottle to keep the boys hydrated over the course of the camp and at their upcoming training and games.

The packs also came with a tooth brush, toothpaste, toilet paper, socks, the bag, t shirt, notebook, pen and soap. These items are great during camp when perhaps the boys didn’t have them to carry with them in the first place.

A delightful evening with visitors and Sukran Bagcier from Turkey. Sukran was sponsored by RC Darwin North 22 years ago when she spent three months in Darwin. She made a mark then and again now with her visit to catch up with her former hosts. Sukran was presented with a Paul Harris Fellow.

An enjoyable and informative evening when our District Governor Rita Zappulla, Brien Leibinger, and District 9510 Governor Elect Damian Leach joined members from Darwin North, Litchfield-Palmerston and Darwin South Rotary.

A great evening. IPDG Greg Marlow told us of some of the highlights of his year as District Governor. He then presented Mike Hatfield with the Rotary International Avenues of Service Award, which comes with a Crystal and Pin. Congratulations Mike.
Jennie Gale and Jill Forsyth from the RC Kew outlined some of their Empowering Community Growth projects.
A full-circle Rotary moment occurred when Jill mentioned that she had hosted Cristina Freitas, an Ambassadorial Scholar from East Timor, in 2008. Darwin South Rotary had also financially supported Cristina's family back in ET while she studied in Victoria.

Darwin South Rotarian PDG Joanne Schilling has been awarded the Rotary International Service Above Self Award, presented by District Governor Greg Marlow at the Rotary Tri-District Conference.
