Tomorrow, Saturday 31 October, marks 109 years since the Battle of Beersheba. The final phase of the battle was the famous mounted charge of the 4th Light Horse Brigade.

We will have lapel pins and other items for sale that reference this battle.

Be sure to catch us at your local shopping centre on Friday 6 November and Saturday 7 November.

We'll post all locations soon.

We will be out and about on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 November for our annual Poppy Appeal. Look out for our amazing volunteers at many of the shopping centres around Darwin, Palmerston & the rural area.
Please buy a poppy and help us continue to support the families of veterans who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our beautiful country.

Today is War Widows Day, and this year marks 80 years since the founding of the War Widows Guild by the remarkable Jessie Vasey.

Her legacy fighting for families was reflected this year at the National Commemoration of the 25th anniversary of Australian Involvement in the War in Afghanistan, where the family of Andrew Russell laid the first wreath.

Today the inclusion of bereaved families in commemoration is accepted common sense, but it wasn’t always this way. When Jessie founded the War Widows Guild, widows were not included in official Anzac Day commemorations, and it would be ten years of advocacy before Jessie was invited to lay a wreath at the Australian War Memorial’s Anzac Day service in 1956.

Commemoration today better reflects families and the whole community, thanks to the work Jessie began 80 years ago.

Legacy NT have been lucky enough to receive a donation of mulch for our garden at Legacy House in Ludmilla. A huge thank you to SAGE Landscape Material Supplies for their very generous donation.
