Eight suspensions to zero.

That’s the reported change among the students supported through our collaboration with Granville Boys High School, NSW Police and the NSW Rugby League.

Behind that number are young men learning to take responsibility, face challenges and make different decisions.

This is what can happen when a school, police, sporting organisation and mentors work together. Shared standards. Consistent support. Accountability that carries from the program back into the classroom.

I’m proud of everyone involved. But the young men deserve credit. They’re the ones who have to face the same pressures and choose a different response.

Thank you to Granville Boys High School, NSW Police and NSWRL for backing these young men and the work we’re doing together.

The progress matters. Now we keep building on it.

This moment won’t be forgotten.

To be invited and then to see my vision featured at the launch, it’s an honour. I don’t have words big enough for the gratitude.

What David and the OpOz team have done is give people with real experience a national capability: the ability to shift policy and procedures.

And for me, that is how families get supported and teenagers get healed across the nation. Far beyond what any single camp of mine could do.

For that, I’m forever grateful.

Now let’s get to work.

And look, there are plenty of phrases and analogies from the military that I won’t repeat here, but let’s just use the cleanest one.

For a decade, every three months, I’ve brought young people from every background and every corner of Australia together in one location.

And what I’ve witnessed would blow your mind.

Spend nine days alongside these kids. Eat with them. Train with them. Listen when they finally feel comfortable enough to talk. You start to understand far more than the behaviour that brought them through the door.

You hear what they’re carrying. You hear what their parents have been trying to manage. And you see the potential they’ve stopped seeing in themselves.

Movement. Routine. Responsibility. Connection. Adults who show up, hold the standard and stay in their corner.

Those things matter.

I’ve spent a decade standing beside these kids and their families. It’s why I keep speaking up. What we’re witnessing on the ground needs to be heard.

Stop managing the decline. Start rebuilding the child.
