Katherine Salvos

Katherine Salvos A vibrant worshipping and ‘Hub’ social services team, supporting the Katherine community. We meet 5pm Sundays for worship. All welcome.

Jesus Lead, Sprit Filled, Hope Revealed! WHO WE ARE:

Katherine Doorways Hub ("The Hub") is a drop-in centre and community space supporting people who are experiencing homelessness, or at-risk of homelessness, or are "rough sleepers". Katherine Doorways Hub is a project of The Salvation Army, collaborating with social and support services of Katherine, funded by the Department of Local Government

Housing and Community Development, Northern Territory. WHAT WE DO:

The Hub provides a safe space for clients to seek respite, shelter and access dignity services, such as showers, washing machines and dryers. It's also a space where our clients have access to support services responding to their needs. The Hub is a community space open to everyone, and with the aim to support people experiencing or at-risk of homelessness. The Hub does not provide accommodation. OUR PROGRAMS

Katherine Doorways Hub provides three programs:

THE BEACON operates 50-cent breakfasts (toast, tea and/or coffee) from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM and free lunch (soup provided by Katherine Hospital catering) at 11 AM from Monday to Friday. DOORWAYS operates the Emergency Relief service for people experiencing emergency crisis situations through interviews Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 AM to noon. THE HUB SUPPORT ("The Hub") provides case management for clients, who are "rough sleepers", respond to clients' emergency crises and/or support them in obtaining housing/accommodation. Our team comprises of a Senior Case Manager and two Case Workers. We operate during service hours. In partnership with Share the Dignity, we have a FREE Share The Dignity pads and tampons packs. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

VOLUNTEERS to support us at The Beacon. It is a great first point-of-contact for services and clients to familiarize with one another. We encourage services to begin at this stage as a first step to establish a sense of confidence and trust from clients. DONATIONS from community to give away tin/dry food for our overnight packs, clothing (men, women, children) for dry and wet seasons, swags, blankets, shoes (men, women, children), hygiene products (toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorants, soap, shampoo/conditioner), and dignity packs for men (razors to shave their beards). KEEN TO BE PART OF OUR COMMUNITY AT THE HUB? SEND US A MESSAGE NOW if you want to volunteer, donate or show your support.
