Lots has happened across Youth Futures this week 👉

2️⃣ Clarkson went all in for Wear it Purple Day sporting purple wigs, purple lemonade, and a whole lot of pride 💜

3️⃣ Months in the making, our young chefs at Altone Youth Centre are now published authors! Featuring recipes that tell our young people’s stories as well as some fan favourites from Altone’s kitchen 📖🧑‍🍳

4️⃣ Clarkson swapped the classroom for Duncraig Adventure Park and made the most of the sunshine ☀️

5️⃣ Joondalup students got hands-on with the rescues at Perth Wildlife Hospital 🦜

6️⃣ One of our Year 11 Cert III students landed some work experience in real estate! 🏡

7️⃣ Clarkson’s music lovers made their return to Dordaak Kepup Library. It’s fast becoming a firm favourite! 🎸

8️⃣ Midland’s crew hit up their weekly session with PT Liam at Chasing Better in Malaga, and one student nailed a ring muscle up in just 15 minutes of trying. Huge effort! 💪 Liam Phelps

Here’s a look at what’s been happening across Youth Futures this week 👇

2️⃣ Wow! Huge thank you to the parent who visited Anchor Point Joondalup today and gifted our staff some delicious treats! It was to thank our team for supporting their young people since starting with Anchor Point. How sweet! 🥹

3️⃣ A young person through COMET Connect program in Albany received a visit and some cuddles from a friendly feline during their lesson 😺

4️⃣ Anchor Point Joondalup and Clarkson Community School staff and students adorned purple and rainbow in celebration of Wear It Purple Day! 🏳️‍🌈💜

5️⃣ What an achievement! A young person through our Brentwood program was recently awarded for her commitment to learning and we are so proud! Congratulations! 👏

6️⃣ Mirrabooka students brushed up on their local history with a trip to Fremantle Prison ⛓️

7️⃣ Back by popular demand! Young people from Altone are back in the kitchen preparing fan favourite Dubai Chocolate (and we can’t help but be a bit jealous!) 🍫

8️⃣ Now THIS is a great way to learn numeracy and money handling skills! Students from Midland played a few rounds of Monopoly. Awesome idea! 🧐

9️⃣ Let’s settle the debate: sushi or tacos? According to young people at Altone, sushi is the clear winner! Sorry taco lovers 😭🌮

🔟 Oh no… Meccha Chameleons have invaded Bayswater! Can you find all them all? 🫟

James's story is one we're proud to share 💚

When James arrived in Australia from Zambia in mid-2025, he was 18, newly graduated, and looking for connection in an unfamiliar city. A visit to his local library led him to Altone Youth Centre and what started as a simple drop-in became something much more.

Over the following months, our team supported James with referrals to the Youth Futures SETS program, info about LGBTQIA+ community supports, and even smartriders to help him find his way around. 🚌

By September, James had secured a job at a local restaurant and was volunteering weekly with a multicultural youth support program, turning the support he received into support for others.

Stories like James's are why we do this work.

✨ Swipe for the Weekly Recap! ✨ Here's a look at what's been happening across Youth Futures this week.

2️⃣ Creativity took centre stage at TINOCA this week! One of our young people shared their culture and personal expression through this beautiful artwork. We love creating spaces where our young people can build confidence and connect with community. 🎨

3️⃣ Albany students got a taste of TAFE life at our local campus, with an extra dose of inspiration from a past YF student now completing their Diploma!

4️⃣ Clarkson students buckled in for a Road Smart interactive workshop 🚗

5️⃣ Huge congrats to a young person supported across our Outreach and Housing Support Program! After prepping for her theory test, she secured her Learner's Permit — and landed her first job in the very same week. Independence looks good on her! 🙌

6️⃣ Dordaak Kepup Library and Youth Innovation Hub continues to be the place to be on a Friday arvo for Clarkson Community School students 📚

7️⃣ Midland got creative with an art and Youth Choices incursion for Middle School students

8️⃣ Another massive milestone: congratulations to a young person supported by our homelessness service on obtaining their driver's licence! Greater independence, here we come 🚙

9️⃣ Albany marked Daffodil Day, keeping everyone touched by cancer close in our thoughts 🌼
