Peter Cowan Writers Centre Inc has been offering writing groups, workshops, competitions and other writing-related activities in the northern suburbs of Perth, WA for over twenty years. Our Centre is named after Peter Cowan, a celebrated West Australian short story writer, novelist and academic, and the grandson of Australia’s first female parliamentarian, Edith Cowan. Our writing activities are c

onducted in Edith Cowan House on ECU’s Joondalup Campus. The cottage was constructed on campus as a replica of Edith’s former home in West Perth and contains some of the house’s original features. We are a not-for-profit organisation and our Centre is run by member and community volunteers.
