Hundreds of hectares of precious forests are being destroyed every year whilst Alcoa is granted exemption after exemption and allowed to run reckless on the Darling Scarp. When is enough, enough?

Hikers and bikers say they're worried about mining tenements and plans popping up in south-west and southern WA.
It comes as mining giants Alcoa and South32 looks to expand its operations south of Perth.

As more areas in south-west and southern Western Australia are flagged for future mining activity, hikers and bikers say they're worried some of the state's best trails will be affected if more isn't done to protect them.

About time….this gets the media attention it needs!

Over the past 6 years, the land around this significant jarrah tree was cleared and mined or turned into road. Now, it has died, likely as a result of the disturbance.

Alcoa was told to protect magnificent habitat trees of this kind because of their undeniable importance for black cockatoo breeding.

The required 10m buffer was minimal, but still Alcoa could not get it right.

If Alcoa has broken the exemption order; they have been caught out, and the exempted mining must be halted immediately.
