Enrichment is an important part of cat care. It gives cats safe ways to play, explore, climb, scratch, and use their natural instincts every day. Even simple changes at home can make a big difference.

Do you really understand what your cat is trying to tell you?

Charles Sturt University (CSU) are running a research project exploring how cat guardians interpret feline body language — and would love your help!

If you’re 18+, live in Australia, and own or care for a cat, you’re invited to take part in our survey. Your responses will help us understand how people interpret cat behaviour and improve future education for cat owners.

• Takes 15–20 minutes
• Completely anonymous and voluntary
• Receive a FREE 6-month subscription to The Pet Diaries App upon completion

Approved by the CSU Human Ethics Committee (H26071)

Bengals are known for their wild, leopard-like appearance paired with a playful, affectionate personality.

Despite their exotic look, they’re domestic cats with a lot of charm and intelligence.

Key traits

• Coat: Short with silky coat with rosettes, spots, or marbling
• Build: Athletic, muscular, and agile
• Personality: Curious, active, and very smart
• Energy level: High — they love climbing, exploring, and interactive play
• Vocal style: Often quite communicative and expressive

Fun facts

Bengals were developed to resemble small wild cats, which gives them their dramatic appearance.

Many Bengal cats love water more than most other breeds.

They do best with plenty of stimulation, such as puzzle toys, climbing trees, and games.

Winter can be just as important for indoor cats as summer. Cooler temperatures, shorter days and indoor heating can all affect your cat’s comfort and wellbeing.

Simple changes such as providing warm sleeping areas, encouraging hydration, offering enrichment activities and monitoring your cat for signs of discomfort can help them stay happy and healthy throughout the colder months.

A cosy bed, fresh water, daily play and plenty of love can make all the difference this winter.
