On 29 May Our convenor, Coral, attended the State Archives seminar on Early Records in NSW and made lots of notes to follow up. She found it very useful.

Their next seminar is on 7 August focusing on Vital Records: Tracing Births, Death and Marriages in NSW. We were advised that it was filling up fast so if you are interested, go online and register ASAP.

Join us for a full-day seminar on the vital records that are key to all forms of historical research – births, deaths and marriages

Our June meeting will be about DNA discoveries, and will have a slightly different format from our usual meetings. Hopefully, many people will be motivated to make a contribution.

Robert Allison will be the discussion convenor. He would like you to think about what you have done with DNA and any discoveries you have made. I am sure many of you may have found something that surprised you, so please come along and share. Also come along if you are curious.

Robert expects the meeting to be very interactive with contributions from members in attendance. Prepared contributions are welcomed which may, in turn, stimulate further discussion and ad-hoc contributions. The possibility of learning something interesting will be very high!

This meeting, as usual, will be open to all and free. It will be held on Wednesday 17th June between 2 and 4pm, in Hornsby Library, Meeting Room 4.
