Give a little, share a lot this Christmas.

We all know how quickly little ones grow. One day it fits, and the next it doesn’t! Instead of leaving those outgrown clothes tucked away in a cupboard, why not give them a second chance at life this Christmas?

Community Cupboards Charity is popping up at HBNC on Wednesday 9 December, from 9am–11am, helping connect pre-loved clothing with local families who can put it to good use.

It’s a simple way we can support one another, reduce waste and make things a little easier for families as we head into what can be an expensive time of year.

Have good-quality children’s clothing you’d like to pass on?

✨ SOMETHING NEW IS COMING TO HERVEY BAY… ✨🎄

This Christmas, we’re turning Hervey Bay into a giant Christmas Quest!
But first… we need to create the characters. 👀🐋🎅

Throughout October, our CAP Digital Lab is inviting the community to learn how to use Canva and AI to design an original Christmas character inspired by Hervey Bay.

Think whales, turtles, beaches, lorikeets, the pier, summer Christmas… or something we haven’t even imagined yet!

From all the creations, 12 characters will be chosen and transformed into giant 2-metre-high characters appearing at locations across Hervey Bay this Christmas.

And that’s when the real adventure begins…
12 CHARACTERS. 12 CLUES. ONE FINAL QUEST. 🔎

Families will be able to hunt for the characters, solve their clues and discover where the Quest leads.

🏆 12 winning creators receive a $50 Stockland voucher
🎨 Learn Canva + AI skills
💡 No experience needed
❤️ Your creation could become part of Hervey Bay Christmas!

CANVA AI WORKSHOPS
📅 Tuesdays & Thursdays throughout October
⏰ 9am–12pm
📍 Neighbourhood Hive

Bookings are required.

Come along, learn something new and bring your imagination to life.
And as for where those 12 clues will eventually lead you?
We’re not telling. 🤫🎄

Dads, this one’s kind of a big dill… 🥒
BBQ, LEGO and plenty of dad time!

Tomorrow is BBQ & Braids, and we’re bringing dads, kids and the community together for an afternoon of good food, LEGO building, laughs and connection.

It’s a chance for dads to meet other dads, while the kids get stuck into the fun too.

Here’s what’s happening:

🧱 Build a LEGO city together
🥩 Free BBQ for everyone
💇 Have a go at braiding
👨‍👧‍👦 Fun and connection for the kids
💬 Meet other dads and have a yarn

Josh Rimmington will also be joining us. Josh is a local business owner of JR Marketing Group, Mental Health Ambassador, parenting and business podcast host, and children’s author of Mummy Has Lost Her Voice. He’ll be around to chat, connect and enjoy the afternoon with the community.

No need to know anyone before you arrive. Just bring the kids, bring yourselves and come hang out with us.

Because building your village can start with a BBQ, a LEGO brick and a conversation.

📅 Tomorrow, Tuesday 15 September
⏰ 4pm–7pm
📍 Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre, 22 Charles Street, Pialba
🎟️ Free event

Dads, stepdads, grandads and father figures, we’d love to see you and the kids there!
