Veteran Advice and Social Centre Hervey Bay Our mission is to assist all veterans and their dependants in advocacy, welfare, social coffee, and social events in a safe environment.

Come in and have a coffee and a chat with one of our friendly volunteers Veteran Advice and Social Centre is made up of two groups (VVAA) Vietnam Veterans Association of Australia and (VOA) Veterans of Australia, both Associations work tirelessly together, supporting the veterans in our community. Thankyou BBQ on 2May was well received by those in attendance. VOA is very grateful to Skill Centred for painting the inside of the Veterans Advice and Social Centre. Skill Centred is a fantastic program that provides skills to participants to help them on there employment journey while helping not-for-profit/registered charity organisations. VOA wishes all the participants the best for their future.

This is to advise that the Veterans of Australia Association AGM is on Tuesday 13Feb24 1100 at the Veterans Advice and Social Centre in Hervey Bay. Nominations for the Board are open now and close on 30Jan24. Nomination forms are available from the Veterans Advice and Social Centre during opening hours either by pick up or ph 41283759 to have 1 emailed. An email will be sent to all members with a nomination form attached. Please consider supporting the Organisation and would be great to see as many supporters there as possible. A BBQ will follow the AGM.

Veterans of Australia (VOA), after receiving a Grant from the Community Benefit Fund and with FCRC support, is able to restore the Old Pialba Railway Station known as the Veterans Advice and Social Centre (VA&SC) to its former glory.

The VA&SC located in Freedom Park, Pialba next to the Cenotaph is currently leased by Veterans of Australia (VOA) from FCRC. VOA provides welfare and compensation services to the Veteran Community also, the building is utilised as a drop in centre where all current serving and veterans are welcome. The funds provided allowed the upgrade and restoration of the building to its former glory with a repaint, new guttering, roller doors, awnings and garden shed replaced thankyou to local trades- Steve Dwyer painting, Show it Off Home Improvements, The Sheddery, Phill and Tim for guttering and gutter mesh, and Dave Andrews
The restoration is almost complete with the building looking fantastic thanks to project manager John Christensen.

The Centre will be closed on Tuesday, 15 March to allow for some updates to be conducted on our computer system. For those that have advocate appointments these will still be on, just knock on the door.

We apologise for any inconvenience this might cause but look forward to seeing everyone again from Wednesday.
