See the wild kangaroos and enjoy the native flora and fauna in the abundant parklands of Woodlands Historic Park. Explore Woodlands Homestead, or just enjoy the magnificent heritage gardens. Get

a glimpse of the landscape of Victorian settlers in the 1840s. We are also an ideal venue for functions and events, including corporate functions, meetings and weddings.

This National Volunteer Week, we want to take a moment to recognise the incredible people who help keep everything at Living Legends running behind the scenes.

From our volunteer maintenance groundsmen who work tirelessly to keep the property looking its best, to those helping in the rose garden, around the horses, events, and every corner in between — your time, hard work and dedication never go unnoticed.

Quite simply, without our volunteers, Living Legends wouldn’t function the way it does. Thank you for everything you do to help make this place so special.

A legendary day out at Flemington yesterday for Andrew Ramsden Race Day 🏇✨

Santa Ana Lane (aka Santa) and Bullish Luck (aka Bull) loved meeting racegoers, soaking up the atmosphere, and of course enjoying plenty of carrots and pats along the way 🥕❤️

A special Grand Day Out at Living Legends this week 🌟

We were delighted to welcome Hong Kong Jockey Club Executive Manager of Broadcasting, Ken Chan, and family for a memorable visit filled with Devonshire tea, gourmet lunch and unforgettable moments with our legends.

Ken and family spent time with HKJC superstars Pakistan Star, Silent Witness, Bullish Luck and Good Ba Ba, while also catching up with Australian favourites Apache Cat and Brew. A wonderful day celebrating the horses that continue to connect racing fans across the world 🐎

A legendary day

Apache Cat and Santa Ana Lane made the trip out to Bendigo for Golden Mile Raceday and had the best day out.

For Santa, it was a meaningful homecoming. Returning to the track of his very first win, and seeing his name proudly displayed on the Nursery of Champions honour roll was a highlight of the day!

To see his name alongside Better Loosen Up — a much-loved former Living Legends resident, now fondly remembered — made it all the more special.

A big big thank you to Bendigo Jockey Club for inviting the Legends to join in the fun and thank you to for always getting us there and home safely 🥰

We’re so proud of our incredible vet nurse Molly, whose care, dedication and compassion make such a difference every single day.

This work is made even more special through the support of the University of Melbourne Werribee Equine Centre and under the guidance of our CEO and veterinary director, Andrew Clarke — a true team effort in giving our retired champions the very best care.
