“WHAT IS THE RAPUNZEL PROJECT”
Hi, my name is Erin and I am 10 years old. Earlier this year I decided that my hair was too long and I wanted to cut it short. At the time my family had been following Samuel Johnson’s amazing world record Unicycle attempt in support of the “Love Your Sister” charity. It was so sad to hear his sister Connie’s story and what a wonderful thing he was doing in keeping a
pledge to her. My mother had also read about Pantenes “Beautiful Lengths” program which makes wigs for women that have lost their hair during cancer treatment, using ponytail donations. We decided we wanted to help and together we came up with our plan for “The Rapunzel Project”. This is our way of supporting both these wonderful charities at the same time. Money donated goes to breast cancer research & my hair will be donated for making into a wig for a cancer patient. So I am asking people to sponsor me today by making a donation into the collection tin for the “Love Your Sister” charity. In return I pledge to grow my hair until February 2014 at which time we will have a ceremonial “cutting” of my ponytail which will be donated to Pantenes “Beautiful Lengths” program. I hope you will join me in this special crusade.
