New introduction series from 12 July: Meditation and practical Buddhist wisdom
This course from 1.30-3 pm Sundays offers practical wisdom for navigating everyday life with greater clarity, purpose, and compassion. Join us for an exploration of meditation and the essential teachings of Buddhism.
Learn how to calm and focus the mind, reflect on life's deeper purpose, and discover practical methods for cultivating compassion, wisdom and lasting inner peace.
Through guided meditations and practical teachings, you'll explore topics such as the precious opportunity of human life, impermanence, refuge, karma, and the path
to liberation.
Suitable for beginners and those wishing to deepen their understanding of Buddhist philosophy and practice. There is also a 4pm class about bodhichitta. See details below.
About the Classes
Sunday classes are held in a beautiful traditional Tibetan temple and are suitable for newcomers and experienced meditators alike. As a new topic is presented each week, you are welcome to drop in whenever suits you.
The serene space features a large statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, beautiful garden surrounds, and both cushions and chairs for comfort.�
Each class includes guided meditation, a talk, and Q&A, followed by refreshments and an opportunity to chat. The teacher, Anna Goldstein, is a Buddhist nun and a long‑term student of the Society’s founder, Geshe Loden.�
$10 facility charge. Proceeds support the upkeep of the temple and gardens.�
