Congratulations to our Central Coast Marlins B Grade Teal team on being crowned 2026 NSW Country Championships B Grade Champions! 💙🩵

What an incredible weekend of baseball. This group showed determination, teamwork, resilience, and true Marlins spirit from the first pitch to the last. Every player, coach, and support staff member should be immensely proud of this outstanding achievement.

A huge thank you to our coaches, scorers, volunteers, families, and supporters who backed the team every step of the way. Your support plays a massive part in making moments like this possible.

Central Coast Marlins Men Teal Crowned 2026 B Division Champions With 6-3 Grand Final Victory

Central Coast Marlins Men Teal are the 2026 Men’s Country Championships – B Division Champions after producing a composed and clinical 6-3 victory over Newcastle in Sunday’s title game at Blacktown International Sports Park.

The Marlins delivered the decisive blow in the second inning, exploding for five runs to seize control of the championship. Jack S drove in the opening run with a clutch single before Newcastle miscues opened the door, and Robin H delivered the biggest hit of the game, ripping a bases-clearing double to put the Marlins firmly in command.

Newcastle battled back with runs in the fourth and seventh innings, but Rowen S remained calm under pressure. The right-hander turned in a championship-winning performance, throwing 7.2 strong innings, allowing just three runs (two earned) while scattering six hits to keep Newcastle at arm’s length. Joel O recorded the final out to seal the victory and spark the Marlins’ celebrations.

Offensively, the Marlins were disciplined from the first pitch, drawing seven walks and constantly putting pressure on Newcastle’s pitching staff. Jacob P led the way with two hits, while Robin H finished with three RBIs, delivering the game’s defining moment. Craig W and Joel O each reached base twice via walks as Central Coast refused to give Newcastle any breathing room.

Newcastle collected seven hits, with Kenny J and Jack E recording two each, but the Marlins answered every challenge and never surrendered the lead after their huge second inning.

After surviving pool play and earning their place in the final, Central Coast Marlins Men Teal saved their best baseball for last, capping off a memorable tournament with a 6-3 championship victory to be crowned 2026 Men’s Country Championships – B Division Champions. 🏆⚾

As we head into the final day of the 2026 NSW Country Championships, we couldn’t be prouder of our Central Coast Marlins.

Our players, coaches, officials and supporters have represented the Central Coast with passion, determination and incredible sportsmanship all weekend. Every game has showcased the hard work and commitment that has gone into preparing for this tournament.

A huge thank you also goes to our volunteers, families and supporters who have cheered us on from the sidelines and from home. Your encouragement means the world to our teams.

One more day. One more opportunity to wear the Marlins colours with pride.

Let’s get behind our A Grade, B Grade Teal and B Grade Black teams as they leave everything on the diamond. Good luck, Marlins! 💙🩵

Marlins Teal Edge Marlins Black in Pitching Masterclass

Runs were at a premium as Central Coast Marlins Men Teal 18O claimed a gritty 2-1 victory over Central Coast Marlins Men Black 18O in a tense Friday showdown, with dominant pitching and aggressive baserunning proving the difference.

The game unfolded as a classic pitchers’ duel. Jacob P was outstanding for Marlins Teal, working 5⅓ innings, allowing just one hit and one run while striking out three to earn the win. When the tying run threatened late, Joel O calmly shut the door, recording the final two outs to secure the save.

Marlins Teal broke the deadlock in the second inning when Alec M raced home on a sacrifice fly before adding what proved to be the winning run in the fifth. Adam L and Alec M each drove in a run, while Alec also sparked the offence with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate.

Although hits were hard to find, Marlins Teal constantly applied pressure. They drew six walks, swiped five stolen bases, and forced the defence to stay on edge all game. Josh S led the charge on the bases with two steals.

Marlins Black refused to go away. Mike B kept his side in the contest with three strong innings before Michael B delivered two solid relief frames. The defence was equally impressive, turning a double play and playing error-free baseball throughout the game.

Offensively, opportunities were limited against the Teal pitching staff, but Ewan H and Daniel Hawker collected the team’s only hits. Hawker drove in Marlins Black’s lone run, while Noah R created pressure with two stolen bases.

In the end, it was a game decided by the finest of margins. Timely ex*****on, disciplined plate appearances, and lights-out pitching allowed Central Coast Marlins Men Teal 18O to grind out a hard-fought 2-1 victory in one of the tournament’s best defensive battles.

Kyle D’s Grand Slam Sparks Illawarra’s Offensive Explosion in 19-2 Rout

Illawarra Men’s B 18O unleashed an offensive clinic on Friday, piling on 19 unanswered runs across the opening three innings to overpower Central Coast Marlins Black 18O, 19-2.

The game’s biggest moment came in the second inning when Kyle D turned the contest on its head with an inside-the-park grand slam, finishing with four RBIs to help ignite the rout.

Illawarra struck first in the opening inning when Elija T’s groundout brought home the first run, before the bats exploded in spectacular fashion.

After adding five runs in the second, Illawarra completely blew the game open with a 13-run third inning. The relentless rally featured RBI doubles from Lachlan L and Trent B, an RBI single from Joshua L, run-scoring walks to Nathan M and Travis D, a hit-by-pitch RBI to Chris A, and a pair of two-run singles from Ruben L and Lachlan L. Even productive outs kept the scoreboard ticking over as Illawarra sent batter after batter to the plate in one of the tournament’s biggest offensive innings.

Sean C was equally impressive on the mound, throwing all four innings for Illawarra. The right-hander allowed just two runs on six hits, struck out five, and didn’t issue a single walk while keeping the Marlins under control from start to finish.

Illawarra finished with nine hits, but their patience at the plate was just as damaging, drawing 11 walks and constantly putting pressure on the Marlins’ defence. Lachlan L, Joshua L, Ruben L, and Trent B each collected two hits, while Kyle D matched Lachlan L with four RBIs.

The pressure never eased on the bases either. Illawarra swiped 12 stolen bases, with Lachlan L, Nathan M, Chris A, and Kyle D each stealing multiple bags, turning singles and walks into immediate scoring threats. Defensively, Illawarra was flawless, committing no errors, with Trent B leading the team with five defensive chances.

For Central Coast, Jason C and Ewan H each recorded two hits, while David C drove in the Marlins’ lone RBI. Ewan H was a bright spot on the bases with four stolen bases as the Marlins finished with six steals of their own.

But the day belonged to Illawarra, who combined explosive power, disciplined at-bats, aggressive baserunning, and clean defence to produce one of the most dominant performances of the tournament. The inside-the-park grand slam from Kyle D provided the highlight, while the unforgettable 13-run third inning ensured there would be no way back for the Marlins.

Matthew C’s Four-Hit Masterclass Powers Wagga Wagga to 10-2 Victory Over Central Coast Marlins Black

Matthew C was unstoppable at the plate, delivering a perfect 4-for-4 performance to lead Wagga Wagga Men’s B 18O to a commanding 10-2 win over Central Coast Marlins Black on Friday at the 2026 Men’s Country Championships.

C set the tone early and never slowed down, collecting four singles while driving in three runs. He opened his account in the first inning before adding hits in the third, fourth and fifth to cap off a flawless afternoon.

Wagga wasted no time grabbing control of the contest. A Central Coast error brought home the opening run before Matthew C ripped a single down the left-field line to double the advantage and give Wagga an early 2-0 lead.

The Marlins responded with single runs in the second and third innings to stay within striking distance, trimming the margin to 3-2. But any hopes of a comeback were quickly extinguished.

The game broke wide open in the fourth when Wagga exploded for five runs. Sean W provided the biggest blow, launching a two-run home run to left field that sparked the rally. Matthew C followed with another RBI single, Warwick P added a run-scoring hit, and Cecil L capped the inning after being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force home another run. By the end of the frame, Wagga had turned a close contest into an 8-2 advantage.

The visitors added two more insurance runs in the fifth to complete an emphatic 10-run, 10-hit offensive display.

On the mound, Alexander C gave Wagga a solid start, allowing just two runs on two hits over three innings while striking out three. Tom S slammed the door with two scoreless innings of relief, surrendering only one hit while punching out three to secure the victory.

Wagga’s offence was firing throughout the lineup. Matthew C’s perfect day led the charge, while Warwick P matched him with three RBIs. Sean W finished with two hits, including his momentum-shifting two-run homer, and Tom S chipped in with a pair of hits.

Patience at the plate also proved crucial, with Wagga drawing six walks. Ben C and Landon H each earned two free passes, while the team aggressively pressured the defence with five stolen bases. Just as impressive was Wagga’s flawless defensive effort, committing no errors all game, with Warwick P handling a game-high seven defensive chances.

For Central Coast Marlins Black, Codey H drove in the team’s lone RBI, while Matt S, Noah R and Daniel Hawker each recorded a hit. Noah R swiped two bases as the Marlins finished with six stolen bases despite being limited to just three hits on the afternoon.

Marlins Rally Late to Defeat Illawarra 8–4

The Central Coast Marlins Men Teal 18O used patience at the plate, timely hitting, and a dominant outing from Rowen S to claim an 8-4 victory over Illawarra Mens B 18O on Friday.

After Illawarra struck first in the opening inning on an RBI single from Craig B, the Marlins were held scoreless through the first three frames before breaking through in the fourth. Kaden R’s fielder’s choice brought home the tying run before Craig W delivered the biggest hit of the inning, lacing a two-run double to put Central Coast in front 3-1.

Illawarra refused to go away, answering immediately in the bottom half of the fourth. Rob C doubled home a run before Sean C followed with an RBI single to level the scores at 3-3 and set up a thrilling final inning.

The Marlins responded in emphatic fashion in the fifth, exploding for five runs on four hits. Joel O, who showed outstanding discipline throughout the game, ripped a two-run double to ignite the rally, while Craig W, Daniel P and the rest of the lineup kept the pressure on to stretch the lead to 8-3.

Rowen S was outstanding on the mound for Central Coast, working all five innings while allowing five hits and four runs (three earned). He struck out nine batters and walked just one, repeatedly shutting down Illawarra rallies with overpowering stuff.

Craig W starred offensively, finishing 2-for-4 with a game-high three RBIs, including the crucial two-run double that gave the Marlins their first lead. Daniel P and Robin H each added two-hit performances, while Joel O reached base four times, drawing three walks before delivering the decisive two-run double in the fifth. Central Coast’s patient approach proved vital, as they worked nine walks and consistently forced Illawarra pitchers into deep counts.

Illawarra showed plenty of fight despite the loss. Rob C, Craig B, Nathan M, Ruben L and Sean C all recorded hits, with Rob C, Craig B and Sean C driving in a run apiece. The team also applied pressure on the bases, swiping four steals, with Elija T and Ruben L each collecting two stolen bases.

The difference ultimately came down to one explosive inning, as Central Coast turned a 3-3 deadlock into an 8-4 victory with a relentless fifth-inning surge to open their tournament in style.

Wagga Wagga Walk It Off in Thrilling Pitcher’s Duel Against Central Coast Marlins Teal

It took every inning to separate the two sides, but Wagga Wagga Men’s B 18O delivered when it mattered most, scoring in the bottom of the seventh to claim a dramatic 2-1 walk-off victory over Central Coast Marlins Men’s Teal 18O on Friday.

With the game locked at 1-1 and the pressure at its highest, Wagga manufactured one final scoring opportunity. Chris C put the ball in play, forcing the defence to make a play, but the winning run crossed the plate to spark jubilant celebrations and cap off a hard-fought contest.

Runs were at a premium all afternoon as both pitching staffs dominated. Wagga’s trio of Tom S, Ben C and Jack B combined for eight strikeouts while limiting the Marlins to just three hits. Tom S set the tone with three scoreless innings, punching out four hitters. Ben C was outstanding in relief, tossing 1⅔ perfect innings with two strikeouts before Jack B closed the door, working through the final 2⅓ innings to earn the win despite Central Coast’s lone run.

Wagga broke the deadlock in the bottom of the fifth when Chris C delivered an RBI single to score Ben C for a 1-0 lead.

The Marlins refused to go quietly, drawing level in the sixth after Jacob P lined an RBI single down the right-field line to make it 1-1 and set up a tense finish.

Central Coast also received an impressive effort on the mound. Travis O kept Wagga’s offence in check for 4⅔ innings, allowing just three hits and one run, while Daniel P battled through the late innings to keep his side in the contest.

Chris C was the offensive standout for Wagga, finishing 1-for-2 with both of the team’s RBIs. Ben C, Warwick P and Hunter C each added a hit, while Ben C and Warwick P scored the two decisive runs.

For the Marlins, Adam L, Nathan C and Jacob P collected the team’s three hits, with Jacob P driving in Central Coast’s only run.

In a game defined by outstanding pitching, timely defence and clutch hitting, Wagga Wagga held their nerve and produced the biggest hit of the day when it counted, walking off the Marlins in one of the most exciting finishes of the tournament so far.
