Reading the words of the mothers who attend our groups reminds us exactly why this work matters.

"Neuro group is my favourite. I get to connect with amazing women like me. Feel that I'm enough, and good for me and my family."

For so many neurodivergent mothers, motherhood can feel isolating. Finding a space where you don't need to explain yourself, mask, or pretend you're coping can be life changing.

Our mental health support groups are more than a just a simple support group. It's a place of understanding, belonging, validation and connection.

Many of our mothers arrive carrying anxiety, overwhelm, isolation, grief, identity loss, or simply the weight of trying to hold everything together. Through connection with other mothers who truly understand, they begin to rebuild confidence, hope and a sense of belonging.

To the incredible women who trust us with their stories each week, thank you. Your courage, honesty and support of one another is what makes this community so special.

Right now, today, somewhere on the Gold Coast, there’s a mother sitting in the feeling that everyone else is coping except her.

She is a mother who doesn’t know Motherhood Village exists yet.

There’s a mother who found us last week and is coming back this week, because it was the first time she’d felt understood since her baby was born.

And there is a mother who has been coming to Motherhood Village for six months consistently, and is now thriving and feeling connected into our community.

Your donation keeps the doors open for all of our mothers that need the support that Motherhood Village provides.

Here’s what different amounts make possible:

$25 — Can help one mother attend a small-group peer support session.

$50 — Can help one mother attend a peer support session with a personalised check-in so she feels safe and supported.

$100 — Can help one mother access peer support, plus personalised care navigation to connect her with the right services.

$500 — Can help extend our support to reach more mothers and families, ensuring they feel connected, safe, and not alone.

Every donation keeps our village open. Be part of what holds Gold Coast mothers through the hardest season of their lives.

I still can’t stop smiling about this. 💛

Today, my son came home from school with an envelope from his bus driver, Helen. Inside was a $10 donation for Motherhood Village, along with a message of support for the work we’re doing.

What moved me most was the kindness behind it. The fact that someone heard about our mission and chose to show up in such a thoughtful way speaks volumes about the incredible community we have here on the Gold Coast.

Helen, thank you. Your donation completely made my day, and your $10 will now go towards supporting local mothers who need connection, care and community.

This is exactly why we do what we do. One act of kindness at a time, we are building a village where no mother feels alone. 🌼

Becoming a mother on the Gold Coast can be the hardest, loneliest season of a woman's life, and around 1 in 5 will experience perinatal depression or anxiety along the way.

Motherhood Village exists so that no Gold Coast mother has to navigate it alone.

We're the community that wraps around our local mothers - peer-led, in-person, and free - working alongside the GPs, hospitals and specialists who care for them.

Our Peer Leaders are trained in perinatal mental health peer support, and we're trusted to refer to by Gold Coast University Hospital, the Lavender Mother & Baby Unit, the Gold Coast Primary Health Network and GPs across the region.

Since we opened our doors, more than 1,000 Gold Coast mothers have walked in and found warmth, understanding, and a village ready to hold them.

Every one of them came to us to access our free mental health support groups. And it's our community and partners who make that possible.

Be part of what keeps our village open for the next mother who needs us. Donate today - link in bio.

Neurodiverse mothers, those living with ADHD, autism, sensory processing differences, OCD or other neurodiversity’s, face a unique and often invisible layer of difficulty during the perinatal period.

The sensory overwhelm of a crying baby. The executive functioning demands of a newborn’s care schedule. The social expectations of “enjoying” every moment. The effort of masking - of performing “fine” - while internally drowning.

Tegan was six months postpartum with her third baby when her GP referred her to Motherhood Village.

From the outside, she was managing. From the inside, she was struggling more than anyone around her knew.

She joined our Perinatal Mental Health Peer Support Group for Neurodiverse Mothers.

Inside that room, she met mothers openly discussing sensory overwhelm, emotional burnout, executive functioning challenges, and the specific mental health experiences that many neurodiverse mothers share, but rarely say out loud.

For perhaps the first time since becoming a mother, she felt genuinely understood.
Over time, her overwhelm reduced. Her home became calmer. Her children felt it too.

Your donation goes directly to keeping our free groups open for Gold Coast mothers. Give before 30 June and your gift is also tax-deductible this financial year. Link in bio.

NoMotherAlone

Perinatal mental health is not one experience. It is many.

For some mothers, it’s the relentless anxiety that started during pregnancy and never left.

For some, it’s the grief of a birth that didn’t go the way it was supposed to, or a pregnancy that never came home.

For some, it’s the cultural isolation of mothering in a country that isn’t the one where they grew up.

The exhaustion of navigating early parenthood without the family and community they were supposed to have beside them.

For some, it’s the specific, complex exhaustion of being a neurodiverse woman in a neurotypical world, and trying to mother through it.

At Motherhood Village, we run specialist groups for all of these experiences, each one led by a trained Peer Leader with relevant lived experience and specialist perinatal mental health peer support training, in a safe, trauma-informed space.

Because peer support only works when the peers genuinely understand what you’re carrying, and when the environment is built to hold it.

When a mother finds her specific group, the one built for her, something shifts. She stops explaining herself. She starts healing.

Help us keep every group running. Your donation is tax-deductible, so whenever the moment is right for you, we’d love your support. Link in bio.

Sometimes it's the simplest feedback that reminds us why this work matters so much 🤍

"My second time joining the group; such a lovely space. I felt heard and validated and also had the opportunity to support other mums by listening and showing we care. Thank you."

At Motherhood Village, we believe support is not just about receiving help, it's also about finding connection, feeling understood, and realising that your experiences can help another mother feel less alone too.

Every week, mothers walk through our doors carrying different experiences and different challenges. What continues to amaze us is the kindness, compassion and encouragement they offer one another.

Being heard. Feeling validated. Knowing you belong.
Sometimes that's where healing begins.

Thank you to every mother who shows up, shares, listens and helps create the safe, welcoming community that makes our Village so special. 🤍

We are also incredibly grateful to the generosity of the for supporting our Village Art groups, creating a gentle and creative pathway into connection and support for mothers. Thank you also to the for supporting our specialised Neurodiverse Mothers and CALD & Expat Mothers peer support groups, helping ensure more mothers can access support that feels safe, relevant and understanding of their unique experiences.

Together, you are helping us ensure that no mother is left to navigate the challenges of motherhood alone.
