Every day St John’s Crisis Centre provides food, clothing and other essential services for Gold Coasters in their time of crisis.

We are a non-denominational charity located in Surfers Paradise that is devoted to helping our community.

This funding will go towards refurbishing our drop-in kitchen, including upgrading our fridge and freezer.

Today is the first step.

Our 8-Week Holistic Empowerment Program starts today, created for women who are ready to build confidence, learn new skills and take steps towards greater independence.

Over eight weeks, we’ll cover everything from financial empowerment and job readiness to digital skills, tenancy, wellbeing and recognising your own value.

And you won’t be doing it alone. Along the way, you’ll have practical resources, support, self-care items and access to Athena, your secure digital resource to keep learning and accessing helpful information beyond the program.

You are not starting over. You are starting stronger. 🌸

Homelessness can happen to more people than we realise.

A job loss. Rising rent. A relationship breakdown. An unexpected crisis.

Sometimes, a few difficult circumstances can change everything.

This World Homeless Day, we’re reminded of the importance of community, compassion and having somewhere to turn when life gets tough.

At St John’s, we’re here to provide practical support, connection and a hand up when it’s needed most. ❤️

A huge thank you to the wonderful team at for treating our participants to a delicious lunch!

Chef Paul and the Marriott volunteer team, along with staff from across the hotel, generously gave their time to prepare and deliver a beautiful meal of chicken and coconut rice curry, creamy green pea pasta and Greek salad.

We’re so grateful for your generosity, care and support of our community. What a lovely way to give back!
