WORLD OCEAN DAY

This World Ocean Day we focus on creating a global network of MPAs (Marine Protected Areas) that restores ecosystems, builds resilience, and inspires hope for the future. Did you know Sierra Leone hosts several critical Marine Managed Areas & Marine Protected Areas covering approximately 863 km²? These include vital estuarine networks and large mangrove ecosystems.

At Make Ways we are building capacity in our local team to continue driving sustainability.

Partnerships in ACTION 💫

With thanks to The Carpenters Workshop and - our brand new, sustainable donation boxes have come to life! It went something like this…

🙏🏽 Marty and from the MWF Committee came up with a very cool design for our box
🙏🏽 Karlten and the team at KW cabinets kindly donated the plywood
🙏🏽 Norm and his incredible team of volunteers constructed the boxes (they can even be flat-packed!!)

These boxes are already out in the community and enabling even more collections of your pre-loved sports gear.

We are so grateful to everyone involved in turning this dream into a reality 🤩🤩

This is Rogbere Football Academy ⚽️ located in northern Sierra Leone. Our team at Make Ways Sports have created the opportunity for three teams to receive an order of football boots- U12, U15 and U17. These young people are part of a foundation that supports parentless children. We are so proud to see and be part of the influence that sport can have in their lives.
