🌼 Murray Hut CWA – Welcoming Members of All Ages! 🌼

Are you looking to make new friends, enjoy great company, and be part of a supportive community? Murray Hut CWA would love to welcome you!

We meet on the first Tuesday of every month at the Finley Country Club — starting with a meal together followed by our monthly meeting (except in January and July).

All ages and backgrounds are warmly welcomed — whether you’re curious, new to the area, returning to CWA, or have been a member for years.

A Huge Thank You from Murray Hut CWA!

Our 2025 Melbourne Cup Luncheon was another fantastic success — a wonderful day of fashion, fun, friendship, and fundraising at the Finley Golf Club!

We’re thrilled to share that a substantial amount was raised, which will be distributed in early 2026 to support local, regional, and state causes.

🌸 Murray Hut CWA AGM Update 🌸

We recently held our Annual General Meeting and reflected on a fantastic year of friendship, community, and achievement!

Congratulations to our 2025–2026 office bearers:
President – Sue Escott-Braybon
Vice President – Nola Pinnuck
Secretary/Treasurer – Penny Sloane

Highlights of the year included our Melbourne Cup Luncheon, Finley Show catering, the Small Steps for Hannah presentation, the STEM Scholarship awarded to Alison Kleinschmidt, and successfully nominating the Finley Show Society for the Australia Day Award.

We’re now busy planning our 2025 Melbourne Cup Luncheon at the Finley Golf Club — always a fun day with raffles, prizes, fashions, and great company! 🎉

Some of our Murray Hut CWA members have been busy knitting Trauma Teddies 🧸💙.

These special teddies are given to children who need a little extra comfort and are distributed through ambulance stations, hospitals, ICU units, and women’s refuges.

According to the Red Cross, more than 600 volunteer knitters and knitting groups across Australia lovingly handcraft around 50,000 Trauma Teddies every year 🧶❤️. That’s a huge number of children receiving the comfort of a teddy bear each year.
