Finley Lions Club are getting ready for their winter wood raffles. Last Sunday all members were invited to the banks of the Billabong Creek to spend several exciting hours with chainsaws and block splitters and wood trailers. With the help of 5 footballers and a Treasurer from the Finley Football and Netball Club . An outstanding quantity of wood was made ready for splitting. Thank you very much for your assistance on the day, it was much appreciated.
A couple of Lions struggled on the day, so we hope they recover fully from their ordeal in time to help with the ticket selling. We will now have sufficient wood to hold our raffles throughout the winter.

Another great Lions project which brings out the best in children's imagination

There are so many great reasons for Lions clubs to sponsor the Contest. It boosts kids’ self-esteem and lets them know that their ideas matter. It also offers clubs the opportunity to promote peace while increasing their visibility in their communities. And most importantly, it gives children — and adults — hope for the future.
