Last Friday was a busy day for Erina! All three appliances were out, with both trucks at a Hazard Reduction and the boat out for maintenance checks.

The HR at Appletree Road was successful in reducing fuel load and provided valuable learning experience for some of our newest members in preparation for Bush Fire Danger Period.

The boat maintenance run also provided a great opportunity for some training to sharpen our skills 💪🏼🔥

🔥Hazard Reduction - Mt White ALPHA completed🔥
Last Saturday, our RFS crews carried out a successful hazard reduction burn in Mt White as part of our ongoing preparations of a multi stage hazard reduction for the upcoming bush fire period.
By reducing excess fuel load, we've lowered potential fire risk in the area while also giving our firefighters valuable hands-on training.

A big thank you to the Mt White community for your patience and support while the work was underway-together, we're making our region safer and more resilient.

We would also like to thank Trent Curtin for visiting us out on the fire line it was nice to have a chat!

Erina crews have been busy over the past weekend 👨‍🚒🛥️

On Saturday crew from Erina participated in the group 5 and group 7 training activity providing support and as a safety truck with 2 BA operators for the live fire training prop scenario and crew to operated the simulated fire

On Sunday Erina crew members took to the water to complete the practical component of their fire boat crew course and complete their training to become qualified fireboat crew. Interesting fact Brisbane water boat crewed by Erina holds a critically vital role in the safety of the Central Coast allowing us to access areas that are not accessible by conventional means

🔥 New lockers! 🔥

All made possible with the 2025 Community Building Partnerships Grant, Erina Station has recently been fitted with lockers!

Painted in fire engine red, the new lockers provide secure, organised storage for our firefighting gear, assisting us to turn out faster to incidents in our community 🚒🔥

Thank you to Adam Crouch, who presented us with the cheque last August, for the continued support of our brigade!

🚨Incident call - STRUCTURE FIRE🚨

At 1804 Crews from the Erina Rural Fire Brigade were paged to a Structure Fire at erina High School

Shortly after it was upgraded to a Second Alarm by Fire and Rescue, Crews assisted Fire and Rescue by providing BA and Decontamination support, The fire was contained to 1 Building with 3 classrooms Impacted.

The NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) will be at Kincumber Village Shopping Centre to share information about the upcoming hazard reduction burn planned for Kincumber Mountain Reserve.

This morning, Erina crews paused to reflect on the lives lost in last night’s tragedy, when Marine Rescue volunteers died while on duty protecting their community. They were more than just volunteers, they were dedicated, selfless individuals who gave their time and courage to keep others safe. Rest in peace.

Erina crews have been busy over the past week 👨‍🚒🔥

On Thursday, crews assisted with a hazard reduction burn at Killcare.

Saturday’s planned HR at Kincumber was postponed due to overnight rain, so crews made the most of it washing trucks and cleaning hoses, keeping everything ready for the next job. A big congratulations as well to two of our firefighters Josh and Hudson who obtained their BAO qualifications on Saturday 👏

Then on Wednesday, we had the opportunity to meet with the Minister for Emergency Services, along with local MPs, to recognise and thank the firefighters who assisted during the Koolewong fires in December 2025.

A huge thank you to all brigades NSW RFS, Fire and Rescue NSW, and the many emergency services and community groups who supported the Koolewong response. The list is massive and wouldn’t fit in one post, but your efforts don’t go unnoticed. Your service is always appreciated. 🙏
