Ellis Beach Surf Life Saving Club is proudly located in North Queensland. Location: Ellis Beach Surf Life Saving Club is located 25km north of the Cairns C*D.

We welcome members of all ages, from 5 to 105, to enjoy surf sports, learn valuable lifesaving skills and be part of our friendly, family-focused club. Background: The club was established 60 years ago and is a family orientated environment with all members of the family encouraged to participate in all aspects of Surf Lifesaving. Membership: The Club welcomes new members of the public and caters for ages from 5 to 105 years. Opportunities: there are not only opportunities to participate in surf sports and fitness but also to learn life-saving skills. Training courses for Bronze Medallion, First Aid and Advanced Resuscitation techniques are available to members. Our club makes an invaluable community service contribution with qualified members participating in voluntary beach patrols at Ellis Beach and assisting with water safety at sporting events throughout the region including IRONMAN Asia-Pacific. There is the opportunity to progress to paid employment as a lifeguard at Cairns Beaches or the Lagoon. Nipper Training is held Sunday mornings from 8.45 am for 2-3 hours for Juniors aged 5 to 13, with a focus on participation, learning new skills and fun. Please be at the beach between 8.30 and 8.45 ready for a 9 am start. Cadets, Seniors and Masters train on Saturdays. The North Queensland Surf Sports Season runs from May to October every year, but the club operates 12 months of the year conducting training courses and the clubhouse is available for use by members all year round.

A huge well done to all our competitors for your effort, resilience and heart. We’re so proud of you. Not just for how you competed, but for the way you supported and encouraged each other.

It’s special to see the friendships growing. You’re learning to celebrate each other’s wins and pick each other up when things get tough. Those are memories and lessons you’ll carry long after the surf is over.

A massive thank you to our parents, coaches, age managers, officials and water safety crew. It takes a team behind the team, and we’re so grateful for you!

I love our Ellis family and couldn’t be prouder to be part of this crew. Bring on next season. Let’s make it even bigger, better and louder! ❤️💙

Congratulations to all competitors from across the NQ Branch selected to represent QLD Country at the QLD Interbranch Championships on the Gold Coast this December!

A huge thank you to Cairns RSL Club for generously supporting us through the Hospitality Hearts Community Fund! ❤️💙

Last night, our President, Hamish, and Director of Finance, Jeremy, were delighted to accept the funds on behalf of the club.

This support will help us purchase some gym equipment for our new clubhouse, giving members even more opportunities to train, stay active and make the most of our facilities.

As Danielle, our Director of Surf Sports, says: “We’re so grateful for your support and can’t wait to put it to good use.”
