20/06/2026

Well that's Eastern Parkrun No.338 done and dusted! We were fortunate enough to have a run a rain free event with visitors from Adelaide, Ivanhoe and small invasion from friends from Tasmania, some of which were treating the Spirit of Tasmania like a hop on- hop off bus by arriving this morning and returning tonight! Hi and farewell!
I would like to thank our volunteers who made this event possible. They are Maragret, Daniel, Vanice, Erin, Danielle, Karen, Esper, Kevin, John, Vivian, Adrian and Philippa.
We had 104 participants who walked, jogged and ran the course. We welcomed one first timer and celebrated 2 milestones, one 50 events and one 150 events. Well done and keep going!!
Please consider volunteering sometime in near future as it always helps to share the load.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and hope to see you next week!!

*** Big thanks to dear friend Rosemary Robinson for the milestone report ***

13/06/2026 One very important milestone for this weekend:

• Congratulations to Vivien Tranquille who will earn membership of the v25 Club, for volunteering 25 weeks at parkrun

Vivien Tranquille – v25 for volunteering 25 weeks at parkrun
• Vivien’s parkrun journey began at Frog Hollow on 23/04/2022, when she volunteered to do barcode scanning with her mother, Meaghan.
• With an excellent role model in her mother, she has chosen to become a regular volunteer at Eastern Gardens.
• This weekend she did the role of token sorting, she has achieved membership of the v25 Club, for volunteering 25 weeks at parkrun. This is a fantastic achievement for a young lady who is under eleven years of age!
• She volunteered three times at Frog Hollow before the family moved, and Eastern Gardens became their home event.
• She has volunteered across seven distinct roles. She has token sorting fifteen times and done finish token support three times. She has done the unspecified role of ‘other’ on two occasions. (One of the times she was credited with ‘other’, she was very excited to wash the volunteer vests when that was a weekly requirement when parkrun resumed after Covid-19 cancellations.) She has been a marshal, done barcode scanning, been a tail walker and done the post-event close-down once each. These are official roles she has been credited with, but no doubt in reality, she will have done many more.
• The most volunteer credits she has earned in a calendar year is sixteen, this year!
• Because she volunteers more often that she completes parkrun, she has an impressive volunteer ratio of 1200%,
• Vivien has completed two parkruns, one each at Frog Hollow and Eastern Gardens.
• Her best time is 55:45, done at Frog Hollow on 30/07/2022.
• She has a best age grade percentage of 35.04%, earned on the day of her PB.
• She participates in the JW10 age group.
• She earned her jv10 milestone, for volunteering ten weeks at parkrun as a junior under the age of eighteen, at Eastern Gardens on 7/02/2026.
• Vivien’s family and the Eastern Gardens parkrun family are very proud of her commitment to volunteering!
• Best wishes for achieving lots more milestones in the future!
