What a fabulous finale to our series of 3 Swing Dances!
It was wonderful to see so many people arrive dressed in beautiful 1940s style, bringing such colour, character and atmosphere to the night. We are in awe of ladies wearing their hair in victory rolls , pin curls and snoods!
The hall was absolutely pulsating with fabulous music, the dancing was amazing, and the Jitterbug was without a doubt the dance of the night.
A huge thank you to our amazing singer Felicia and her band, who kept everyone on their feet and filled the hall with energy.
An extra special thank you to the wonderful Chrissy for organising these fabulous nights to raise funds for her cancer charity. Another memorable evening of music, dancing, community spirit and generosity!

Today we celebrated QCWA’s 104th birthday with our Sconversation Day in the hall. Thank you everyone who came along to support us and share this special day. Our hall was full and humming with the sound of chatting and laughter. The scones were delicious!
Thanks to our wonderful ladies who baked, served and worked hard to make it a memorable day.
It was also National Vietnam Veterans Day, and we heard from Peter Murphy, a long time friend of our branch and a Vietnam Vet. Thank you Peter for your service and your inspiring words today.

Our fantastic Friday was definitely fantastic this week! The students loved their final cooking class, and cooked up a feast of Country Kitchens recipes. Next week they start on their knitting, crocheting and sewing skills.
Friday night our hall was rocking with the swing dancers, the jazz band and Katrina’s amazing singing. We love having them and seeing the hall come alive with their fabulous music and dancing!

Our Fabulous Fridays are back with the students from Hillcrest School! Today our wonderful Country Kitchens ladies talked about the key messages, nutritious lunch boxes and knife skills. The students made a wonderful lunch with rice paper rolls, salads, savoury muffins and blueberry muffins. Delicious!

What a great day in the hall this week! 🍓 We celebrated our product of the year - strawberries, along with National Lamington Day. Cathy shared some interesting facts about strawberries, and Gwenyth treated us to the real history of lamingtons. Fun fact: lamingtons are said to have been made for Lady Lamington - and we’re very glad they were!
Our guest speaker was Dr Andrew Treloar, kinesiologist and chiropractor, and it was particularly exciting that Andrew began by referring to our great QCWA vision. He then gave us an inspiring talk about body energy systems and alignment, as well as some handy, easy exercises to help improve our balance. A big thank you to our ladies who prepared the delicious and interesting food, and everyone who joined in the fun, the facts, the movement, and of course, the tasty celebrations.
