🎉 HAPPY INTERNATIONAL CAT DAY! 🎉

🐱 Today we celebrate those adorable little freeloaders who:

🐾 Scream because their bowl is technically 87% full
🐾 Demand to go outside… then immediately demand to come back in
🐾 Ignore the $80 cat bed and sleep in the bloody box
🐾 Knock s**t off benches while maintaining direct eye contact
🐾 Get the 3am zoomies like they’ve just snorted a line of catnip
🐾 Stick their bum directly in your face as a gesture of love
🐾 Hear a treat packet being opened from approximately 14 suburbs away
🐾 And spend 45 minutes screaming at a closed door… only to walk away the second you open it.

They contribute nothing financially, refuse to pay rent, leave hair everywhere.. and we absolutely bloody adore them 😂❤️

A special shout-out today to all the gorgeous Colac rescue kitties still waiting to find the human servants they deserve 🙏🏡🐈‍⬛

Right now, Colac Cat Rescue is struggling.

Each week, more & more messages about abandoned, neglected and unwanted cats and kittens are coming through. Kittens needing 'round the clock care. Injured cats needing urgent vet treatment. Hungry little fluff butts depending on us for their next meal😭

The heartbreaking reality is that rescue doesn’t stop when funds run out. The animals still need medical care. They still need feeding. They still need somewhere safe to sleep & a human to rely on to make progress.

We never want to turn an animal away! but without community support, that becomes a very real possibility.

If you have ever thought about helping, now is the time. All donations $2 & over are tax deductible. Donate before 30 June & include your donation on your next tax return.

⚠️ CARERS NEEDED ⚠️

Do you have 2-6 weeks available to devote care to 1 (or more) kittens? Preference will be given if you can keep 2 or 4 kittens together 🙏

Strictly INDOOR ONLY. Must have own car for vet appts (we arrange & cover appts to desex etc, let us know if you have a preferred vet, appts are daytime/weekday).

Care is required until their adoption. Food/litter will need to be covered please, unless the rescue has donations or funding available. We'll co-ordinate meet n greet (your place, or to safely take to new home)

We urgently need a local cat person who can care for a 10 wk old black kitten in COLAC 🖤 pls note: This gorgeous, friendly kitten has cat flu.

If you have another cat = isolate this kitten for 2 weeks & follow strict protocols (incl antibitiocs), also if ur ever in contact with other cats.
* OR * if in a CAT FREE home:
or have another pets (eg.dog) you are fine. NB. If you are in contact with cats elsewhere, the virus can remain on clothes/surfaces for 1-3 wks. We will advise how to effectively clean/wash.

🙏 This sweet darling needs a temporary home ASAP for love, playtime, safety & of course food & to maintain health (clean litter, flea/ worming which we can assist with).

🐾 URGENT Foster Carer Needed 🐾

We're urgently looking for an experienced & reliable cat person who can care for a gorgeous, friendly 10 wk old black domestic short hair kitten in COLAC or surrounding areas 🖤

This sweet little one is currently being treated with antibiotics for cat flu and just needs a safe place with love & care, in preparation for future adoption.
